Hard to say: Have you had a colonoscopy? It is hard to say what the spot on your liver is without looking at your films... This could be a simple cyst, but if it is new, it could be a colon cancer (or other kind of tumor). You need a proper exam, including a colonoscopy if you haven't had one yet. If the ultrasound is questionable or clearly abnormal, a more specific imaging study is required such as a ct scan or MRI of the kidneys for further evaluation. Ask doctor...: How do you know a spot in kidney being chalky, by x-ray or CT or MRI? If yes from either one, why did you have it? But, in many laypersons' mind, a chalky spot could represents the presence of non-moving stone in the kidney. More? See below: Most "spots" on kidneys are cysts which are generally benign. It would be important to know how long it was stable. Ie was it 4 months or 4 years? We see more kidneys with spots than without in people of your age so it's probably nothing to worry about, but would still follow your docs recommendations. The radiologist may be able to be a little more specific or could confirm w/ ultrasound. Read more
