Not normal.: If these bumps are itchy and did not appear until 1-3 days after the event, the most likely problem is from a contact allergy to the adhesive bandaid applied on the needle site. If the problem spreads or persists > a week, see the doctor. This could be an allergic reaction to contact with anything-outdoors such as reaction to plants, bushes, even maybe some air borne irritants, creams, sun. Possibly even local reaction to insect bite such as scabies
Best thing initially is to take a Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to see response +can try OTC hydrocortisone, Aveeno Colloid Bath.
