What Does Pus Cells And Epithelial Cells In Urine Occasional Means
My urinalysis indicate that erythrocytes is 2+, mucos thread, bacteria and epithelial cell moderate and rbc 4-6, wbc 4-8. What does it means?
Urine is the product of the kidneys, which is produced to eliminate the waste products of metabolism, manage body fluid balance, &maintain acid-base balance. The blood is first filtered by the kidneys, and the composition of the resulting fluid is then altered depending on the body's needs. It is composed of mostly water, and breakdown products from blood cells impart ...Read more
My urinalysis results show: occasional leucocyets, epithelial cells 1/hpf and non squamous epi cell. There's no bacteria. What does this indicate?
"possibly a UTI": While this could represent a lower urinary tact infection, this would most likely represent a contaminated specimen (especially a voided specimen in a female). Most urologists are cautious about "treating the urinalysis" and would follow with a urine culture and sensitivity. ...Read more
Fever and urine in orange color -pus cells are 8-10/Hpf and epithelial cells are 6-7/Hpf in complete urine examination. Is this serious? How to stop?
Fever and urine in orange color -pus cells are 8-10/Hpf and epithelial cells are 6-7/Hpf in complete urine examination.
See answer: Your urinalysis may be indicative of either a urinary tract infection or normal vaginal contamination. The presence of only leukocytes (WBCs) in the urine has a poor predictive (<45%) probability for UTI and has resulted in unnecessary administration of antibiotics to one third to one half of treated patients. A urine culture is recommended and is the gold standard for the diagnosis of a UTI. ...Read more

What does reactive transitional cells, crystals, cellular degeneration present and white blood cells observed mean in urine cytology test.
What can be the cause of haematuria, polyurea and in urine microscopy pus cells(10 in number) epithelial cells, leucocytes?
Could be infection: Sounds like it could be a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) But there are other possibilities. UTI's often show blood cells in the urine (hematuria) & leukocytes (white blood cells=pus=pyuria) are also present. However epithelial cells (skin cells) in a urine specimen can indicate that the urine specimen was not properly collected & has some cells from outside the urinary tract, too. Results from urine sample show really high leucocytes and epithelial cells in urine. Also high erythrocytes. What could this be? No bacteria present.
Might still be a UTI: Gram +ve organisms tike staphloccus, stretococcus,& enterococcus are all nitrite negative & thus urine dipstick can show as -ve for bacteria, yet you can still have a UTI, Urine needs 2B cultured to rule out a UTI in presence of so many leucocytes, Another explanation could be Mixture of introital smegma + some menstrual flow. Very rarely & unlikely TB, unless exposed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What do these results mean? There's a trace of albumin and RBC 2-4/hpf and pus cells of 10-16/hpf?
Probably Infection: Hpf= high powered fields, and the numbers indicate how many of each type of cell was seen under microscopic exam. Normally there are less than 3 RBCs (red blood cells), 3-5 WBC (white blood cells) and 15-20 epithelial cells per hpf. You have increased white cells ('pus' cells) which probably means a bacterial infection. Your doctor lijely has a culture result and can treat with antibiotic. ...Read more

Please explain what does it mean if theres a trace of albumin and RBC 2-4/hpf and pus cells of 10-16/hpf?
Bladder infection?: These are abnormal findings in the urine, protein (albumin) red blood cells and most especially white blood cells (pus cells). Most common cause is urinary retract infection. Symptoms usually include pain or burning with urination, but can be asymptomatic. Check with urine culture. If negative look for other causes. ...Read more
