May not be thyroid: Symptoms are often similar for a number of dieases. If symptoms suggest a certain disease a screening test will often be done. If the screening test is negative (TSH) further, more specific testing (thyroid antibodies) is usually not indicated. Do I need thyroid hormone if I have low free t3, (liothyronine) normal TSH and high tpo antibodies?

Possibly.: The TSH is normal so it might be a variation of normal or euthyroid. It also might be a developing thyroid condition, but there would be symptoms, like fatigue. The tpo antibodies might mean hashimoto's thyroiditis. This is usually associated with hypothyroidism. It would be wise to see your doctor to follow up. ...Read more

Do i need treatment if my TSH 7.69 high normal free T4 and free T3 (liothyronine) and elevated thyroid antibodies?

Do i need treatment if my TSH 7.69 high normal free T4 and free T3 (liothyronine) and elevated thyroid antibodies?

Yes: Tsh 7.69 with high tpo is not "high normal" but high and indicates hypothyroidism. Having high tpo indicates autoimmune or hashimoto's thyroiditis. I suggest adding selenium zinc b complex and vitamin c and iodine and avoiding gluten for a month and rechecking levels in a month. If no change then you might need thyroid supplementation. ...Read more

Imaging: If not done so, proper imaging of the thyroid is indicated, including ultrasound and nuclear thyroid uptake scan.
