Could be normal.: Not sure why you would have blood drawn 3 months after having normal labs in a young and healthy female? There may be more to the story....? These labs could be seen as part of a viral syndrome. May be best to repeat them at some point. ...Read more

What does it mean if I recently had a blood test and it showed a neutrophil count of 0.7?

What does it mean if I recently had a blood test and it showed a neutrophil count of 0.7?

You need to see a: Doctor. Neutrophil count of 0.7 is low though not low enough to qualify as neutropenia, (a count of 500 is abnormally low, normal being around 1500). You may be prone to infection. See your doctor. ...Read more

I received blood test results that say my white blood cells were 15.7 and my neutrophils were 12403. What could this mean?

May just be stress: If you are not obviously ill, and the smear was not reported as abnormal, you may just be stressed. Just a cold shower can raise neutrophils even higher; it causes them to detach from the blood vessels and move in the blood in search of possible invaders. A follow-up may be in order. ...Read more

What does it mean if you have some large platelets on blood test? My absolute lymphocyte count is 0.5 lymphocyte 4% neutrophils 86% WBC 12.6

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your neutrophil count is high suggesting an infection. "Some large platelets" is not a cause for concern. ...Read more

What does it mean if my blood test shows high ast, alt, vitm b12, calicum, bun/creati, neutrophils & sed rate. Low hct, hgb?

Insufficient info: All lab results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. It would also help to know the actual values of the test results. ...Read more

Blood test result show high packed cell volume, high RBC, high WBC and high Neutrophil count what does it mean? With Hand Burning and oral thrush.

Blood test result show high packed cell volume, high RBC, high WBC and high Neutrophil count what does it mean? With Hand Burning and oral thrush.

By itself, nothing: You're a young man and your somewhat high Hct may simply be you -- reference ranges are set so that several percent of folks fall outside on either end. Same for white count. The oral thrush, if proven, calls for a check for a few illnesses; the hands, a neuropathy workup perhaps. Labs are meaningful only in the context of clinical fnidings. Your physician owes you a full explanation. ...Read more

I got 67% lymphocytes in blood test. 25% neutrophiles. I got cervical lymph nodes 2~3. What does that mean?? Is it cancer I am really worried.

I got 67% lymphocytes in blood test. 25% neutrophiles. I got cervical lymph nodes 2~3. What does that mean?? Is it cancer I am really worried.

Virus infection: Absolute counts for lymphs and neuts are all that matters, rather than percentages. Almost everybody has one or more lymph nodes palpable in the neck. This is very suggestive of a minor viral illness or perhaps infectious mono. If this is Hodgkin's, it will be obvious soon enough to treat it, and this is very unlikely. Glad you are health conscious. ...Read more

Blood test showed lymphs 16.7, and neutrophils absolute as 7.25. What are lymphs and neutrophils absolute?

WBC differentials: Are reported as percentages and as absolute values which is the total WBC mulled by the percentage. The absolute numbers are more meaningful. An absolute lymph of almost 17 is high, where a percent is on the low side. ...Read more

Neutrophils 77 slightly out of range but absolute neutrophils normal. Why elevated neutrophil level on the one blood test?

Totally meaningless: If the absolute values are in reference range, ignore it totally. I wish labs wouldn't even report these percentages. And reference ranges themselves are set up so that several percent of healthy people fall outside. A short swim in cold water can triple your neutrophil count. Don't treat labs -- look at people. ...Read more

My blood test, high esoniphils, high basophils and high neutrophils, any ideas why?

No: Hey Lisa -- If you feel well, simply ignore this stuff unless they're so far off that your physician actually talks to you about them. Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside on either end. Percentage counts mean nothing. I can shoot my absolute neutrophi count to 20, 000 by ice-swimming. Eos must exceed 1500 to even raise an eyebrow; basos are no-worry. ...Read more

Do you exercise?: It may seem counter-intuitive, but engaging in exercise may help. Start with walking and gradually increase the intensity. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco or alcohol in any form.
Practice safe sex.

In blood test. Neutrophils low. Lymphs high Monocytes high. But only reading high on absolute was Granulocytes and Neutrophils. Cause for concern?

How high?: Percentages mean nothing. If your absolute granulocyte count was slightly above the reference range without abnormal forms and you feel well, it means nothing; this fluctuates and a cold shower can double it. ...Read more

Just had a blood test wbc is 15.4 and neutrophils 9.6 have to have bloods done again in 2 weeks?

Unclear question: Do you have any symptoms? Why was blood count done? You may have an infection, but it appears that you are under the care of a doctor.
Wish you good health!
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.

I have been getting sick again and again for the past month. My blood test shows high tlc level. 79% neutrophils and 12% lymphocytes level.?

Recurrent infections: White blood cells, also known as leukocytes, play an important role in the immune system of an individual.
They fight infections against foreign organisms and destroy them. When acute infection occurs, TLC will increase. There may be an inbalance of bacteria in the gut leading to a recurrence of getting sick. And overstimulation of the immune system increasing TLC. Probiotics may be helpful. ...Read more

I had a complet blood test and it showd my neutrophil auto was at 34% and lymph auto at 51% eso autoat5% and now have been referred to a hemotoligist?

Need more info: The percentage of WBC types doesn't allow a hematologist much to help you with. The complete blood count including the total white blood count, the hemoglobin and platelet count are as important as the percentages of white blood cell types. Even more important is the history and symptoms of your situation. ...Read more

More information...: It would be helpful to know why you had these tests done. In other words, what symptoms are you having. The numbers you report are not grossly abnormal, but it is difficult to interpret lab results in the absence of clinical information. ...Read more

I just had my yearly physical and my blood test showed my neutrophils were elevated 76.1 and my lymphocytes were low 16.3. White count was normal?

Probably nothing: Percentages are much less important than total numbers of cells. Ask for the absolute numbers before deciding they are abnormal. ...Read more

My dad made blood test but the white blood cell range was high 23000 /lymphocites also high about 80 &segmented neutrophils 17.what should he do??

Hard to comment: He has mostly absolute lymphocytosis. If this was just a blood screen this is most likely chronic lymphocytic leukemia or CLL, which most of the time is a slowly progressive disease. If he was sick at the time of the test would just recommend follow-up CBC in couple of weeks. When was the last time he had normal cell counts? Would recommend seeing a hematologist if no acute sickness. ...Read more
