Daughter 5 yrs tested for a uti all came back negative had moderate leukocyte always find white blood cells do cultures come back neg any ideas why?
Analysis of the urine can suggest infection but not confirm a UTI. Culture is best. Culture will not be positive if infection due to viruses or if inflammation is of a non infectious origin. Presence of WBCs do not always signal an infection. If your daughter has persistence of WBC especially if symptomatic I will be very glad to help you troubleshoot that.

Possible infection: Assuming this is a urinalysis, it means you have a few white blood cells, which could signify infection or inflammation anywhere in the urinary tract. An actual count of the cells is more helpful, that's in another part of the test. If there are more than say 10, the risk of infection is higher. ...Read more
Minor infection: Leukocytes (white blood cells) in the urine often indicate an infection of the genito-urinary tract. They release an enzyme called leukocyte esterase. If it is present in trace (very small) amounts, it does not need further treatment. If you have symptoms, such as burning on urination or frequent urination, you will need antibiotics. ...Read more

Low WBC: Low white blood count can be a variant of normal. The normals on a lab report are based on a "bell shaped curve" of normal. Many, especially those with ancestry from the mediterranean region, have a lower white count (~3.0-3.9). If you have lupus or other autoimmune conditions, or if you get frequent infections, the low count may be significant. Please see an md with your result for eval. ...Read more

Immune response: White blood cells are part of the body's defense system. They attack what is not supposed to be in a particular human's body like bacteria or cancer cells. Half of a fetus is from the father, resembling a transplant. Mom's immune system would reject the fetus, if it wouldnt' be modified in a way not to do that.
