What Does Methadone Smell Like
Varies by brand: It comes in different colors, most commonly used one is red, and comes in different consistencies, some of which contain sugar and some of which do not. It does everything that methadone in pill or wafer form does, with the additional flexibility of allowing differences as little as 1 mg. Most methadone treatment programs dose by computer equipment that requires liquid. It is a long-acting opioid ...Read more
Why do I feel like a zombie on 1 mg of sub when I never felt like this even on my highest methadone amount?
I would like to get off methadones but I need to do it while still working. No insurance and would like to get an idea what I can do and costs?
Look for free care: Just because you don't have insurance doesn't mean you can't get healthcare. On my website (sorry, no way around that), I've listed a number of options for free (or at least low cost) health care, drugs & tests. Or skip my site & just search online for free healthcare. Lots of options are available to you regardless of supreme court ruling. ...Read more
I'm currently on methadone thru a mmt clinic taking 60. I have got to quit like now due to personal issues. Please help what can I do?
Start a slow taper: Ask the clinic to put you on a tapering schedule. I assume that you are taking liquid methadone. Ask them for something that is reasonable and stick with it. Decreasing Methadone by 5 mg every week would be reasonable place to start. Start daily exercise, even walking. Make sure you have lots of distraction, hobbies or whatever to keep you busy and you mind occupied. When you crave, go do something. ...Read more
I am on methadone and chalyndamycin for discitus in my lower back I stopped the clyn and felt like I wao withdrawing. It is awful yawning, etc?
Clindamycin: An antibiotic would not induce opioid withdrawal symptoms - as these drugs do not interact with each other. Diskitis is a serious infection - and usually not treated with Clindamycin to begin with. My advice would be to see your doctor straight away or go to the ER - as there could be something else going on. ...Read more

Odds are: You'll likely be gone as overall this isn't a particularly high dose. You may notice some sedation, nausea, itching or constipation. But the bigger issue is changing how you take a medication, particularly opioids, without reviewing this with your doctor. It's incredibly important to discuss medication changes with your doc. Not doing so could lead to your doc no longer prescribing for you. ...Read more

See below: Methadone withdrawal may not peak for 7-10 days and may last for several weeks. In general, at pharmacologically equivalent dosages, studies have shown Methadone to produce a withdrawal syndrome that is less intense but longer lasting than that of heroin. However most people who have experienced both tend to rate the Methadone withdrawal as more severe. ...Read more

Maybe: Suboxone, or the drug contained there in is called: Buprenorphine (bupe). Bupe is also an opiate but is different from methadone. Neither is a cure for opiate addiction. Both are considered opiate replacement therapy. You must see a dr who is able to prescribe bupe. Look up the "buprenorphine physician locator" on line to find a dr near you. It can be tricky switching from Methadone to bupe. ...Read more
Worse: Patients on chronic opioids are at risk of more severe pain that is more difficult to control with acute noxious stimulus like labor. In essence, up to 4-6x as much opioid as normal might be necessary to control pain and often this makes a patient very sedated, with less pain relief than expected. Taper as much as possible prior to labor or surgery. ...Read more
Same as pills: The liquid is just the vehicle for the drug, although many have food colorings and sugar which may cause problems in some people. Some guidelines: You should not try this on your own, rather, you need an experienced practitioner to help make the switch. It can be quite tricky. The guidelines are to be on 30 mgs of Methadone or less for at least one week, then completely off Methadone for at least another week.
