What Does Mchc Mean On A Cbc Test
CBC test results: Elevated MCHC, elevated MCH, bottom of range for Haematocrit, everything else within normal ranges. What do these results mean?
Nothing: Your physician may want to repeat them. I trust you do not have spherocytosis or if you do, that you've been worked up. At most, a reticulocye count may be in order. Sometimes the machines can be a bit mis-calibrated. High MCHC is quite uncommon and if you feel well I wouldn't be troubled. Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. ...Read more

What does it mean in my CBC test if my WBC count is 10.8, mchc is 300, pdw is 15.8 , lymphocytes is 27.2?
Not much: You have a WBC in the range of the upper limit of normal. Have you had a recent infection? None of these values are of concern, and interpretation without the clinical context is problematic. ...Read more
On a CBC what does it mean when it says MCH is 25.8 mchc is 31.6 both indicating low and RDW is 15.8 indicates a high read?
Should i be concerned about an mchc level of 38.5 from a CBC test? I know it can be a deficiency but i've been taking a multi with B12 for 4 months.
Not MCHC pre se: There are other causes of large red cells, in addition to B12 and folate (folic acid) deficiency, including some medications. It would help to know the whole cbc. All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
MCH and MCHC: Mean corpuscular hemoglobin and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration look at how "red" someone's cells are. High levels are most commonly due to a laboratory artifact but can also be seen when a person has cells called spherocytes. If your CBC was otherwise normal, i wouldn't worry about it. On the other hand, if you also have a low hemoglobin and hematocrit, you should see a hematologist. ...Read more
CBC test, MVC value is normal but MCH & MCHC below 2values than normal range,PCV 2% more than normal.hb&wbc normal.am feeling tied at evening time.
Lab values: There is nothing about these values that is either concerning or diagnostic. Lab data cannot be easily interpreted outside of the clinical context in which it is occurring and knowing why it was ordered. Fatigue can be due to many different causes and needs detailed professional evaluation if truly troublesome. ...Read more
My CBC report shows that mchc 37g/dl, eosinophiles 8%, and widal test to, positive (1/160) th(1/80) and pt(a)pt(b) negative and triglycerides 238 mg/dl ?
Too many variables: The MCHC is basically normal. You have eosinophilia with a high count and the reason for this cannot be deduced from these values. The widal test is basically worthless. Your triglycerides are high but this again can be due to numerous causes. See your doctor and ask these questions to the person who ordered the tests. Labs have little meaning without knowing the full clinical picture. ...Read more
Work up : Ignore the MCHC. Reference ranges are set so a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. Your physician will probably have you repeat the liver enzymes after two weeks off alcohol and meds, or perhaps proceed to a search for possible hepatitis, hemochromatosis, Wilson etc ...Read more
