What Does Low Absolute Lymphocytes Mean
Tested for second time for low absolute lymphocytes & they are still low. What could be causing this? Any way i can raise it?
How do you FEEL???: I am going to assume you are hiv-negative & levels are not super-low. My experience in the hospital lab taught me that many people run low lymphocyte counts for long or short periods without any explanation ever being found. My Absolute Lymphocytes is 3.7 and my Lymphocytes are 33% a year ago it was 4.9 and 41%. What does this mean and should I be alarmed?
On labs my Absolute Lymphocytes is 1.5 say Low. I'm a 63 female . Should I be concerned with this ?

Many possibilities: What is the absolute count? It may be low yet still within the normal limits. Causes of low lymphocyte count, not in any particular order are: active tb, uremia, lymphomas, hodgkin's disease, autoimmune disorders, immune deficiency syndromes, chemotherapeutics, glucocorticoids, malnutrition and more. High end of normal: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. I'm concerned because my absolute lymphocytes are 0.93 and the starting of normal range is 1.20 is this considerably low? My WBC is 4.02
Your counts are OK: Your lymphocyte counts are close to normal. Unless you have some cause for having low lymphocyte count like HIV infection, I would not be too concerned as the counts tend to fluctuate over a wide range. if you are too worried, you can recheck your CBC and Lymphocyte count in one month from now, jut to be certain. ...Read more
