What Does Low Absolute Lymphocytes Mean
Various causes: Most common cause of low lymphocytes are an infection which usually resolves. One of the common causes of low lymphocytes is HIV which affects the lymphocytes and reduces their number. If low, the patient should see a hematologist.
Does not add up:
All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, the information you provided does not add up. You may wish to restate the issue and provide complete results.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
Tested for second time for low absolute lymphocytes & they are still low. What could be causing this? Any way I can raise it?
How do you FEEL???: I am going to assume you are hiv-negative & levels are not super-low. My experience in the hospital lab taught me that many people run low lymphocyte counts for long or short periods without any explanation ever being found. If you are without other signs of systemic illness, it's a piece of information for your physician to remember but no threat to you. "treat the person not the number.".
My Absolute Lymphocytes is 3.7 and my Lymphocytes are 33% a year ago it was 4.9 and 41%. What does this mean and should I be alarmed?
Not alarming: These percentages change frequently, with every time the blood is drawn. The changes are usually meeting was, but we cannot evaluate it completely without seeing the rest of the numbers from the CBC's. Hope that helps.See 1 more doctor answer
It depends: While that level of lymphocytes is low, there are reasons why a person can have low levels, many of which are part of a normal immune response. When a person first encounters a virus or bacteria, neutrophil levels rise, and lymphocyte levels can fall. This switches over a week's time, when lymphocyte levels rise and neutrophils fall. If the overall white cell count is normal, the all is likely ok.
I have symptoms. Had CBC done my absolute lymphocyte count was 1.4 normal was listed as 1.0-4.0. Should I be concerned since it's close to low?
Depends on symptoms: Why did you have the CBC done? What symptoms do you have? Without the critical information, it is hard to give you a fair assessment
Many possibilities: What is the absolute count? It may be low yet still within the normal limits. Causes of low lymphocyte count, not in any particular order are: active tb, uremia, lymphomas, hodgkin's disease, autoimmune disorders, immune deficiency syndromes, chemotherapeutics, glucocorticoids, malnutrition and more. It would be prudent to consult the doctor who ordered the test.
What does a high absolute lymphocytes 4896 mean? There are other highs on my cbc but this was the highest!
High end of normal: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your lymphocyte count is at the high end of normal. However, your enlarged nodes warrant an evaluation, especially in light of the lymphocyte count.
I'm concerned because my absolute lymphocytes are 0.93 and the starting of normal range is 1.20 is this considerably low? My WBC is 4.02
Your counts are OK: Your lymphocyte counts are close to normal. Unless you have some cause for having low lymphocyte count like HIV infection, I would not be too concerned as the counts tend to fluctuate over a wide range. If you are too worried, you can recheck your CBC and Lymphocyte count in one month from now, jut to be certain.
I am 26 weeks pregnant and my absolute lymphocyte count is 737, I have a cold, could this cause it to be low like this?
Syphillis positive but bf neg. He's the only guy I've ever been with. Low absolute lymphocytes 708 range is 850 up on CBC test. Could it be lupus?
False pos test?: It sounds like you might have a biological false positive test, i.e. you don't really have syphilis. And it sounds like you might already know that false pos syphilis tests sometimes occur in lupus and other autoimmune diseases. This is a complex situation -- discuss with your doctor. See an infectious diseases or STD specialist if the positive test is confirmed as syphilis. Good luck!
My white blood cell count is normal but my absolute lymphocyte count is slightly low (1.01 with 1.2 being normal). I am healthy otherwise and all my o?

What does high white blood cells, high neutrophils and low lymphocytes indicate? Absolute lymphocytes and all others are normal should I be scared
High cell counts: Need more information. E.G. What is your age and gender. What are the levels of neutrophils and lmphocytes. Do you have any illness or do you get fevers.See 2 more doctor answers
my WBC was high absolute neutrophils and absolute basophils high absolute lymphocytes were low. As well CD3, helper cells cd4 cd 19 low cd15 16 hig?
See hematologist.: A disease cannot be diagnosed by a blood test and thus you need to discuss the findings with a hematologist or immunologist depending on what kind of disease condition you have especially if this has been a persistently abnormal finding.
What does 4299 absolute lymphocytes mean? Was having pain under right rib. Had CT w/ocontrast, colscope&endo scope. I have no gb. Blood wk norm except
Not concerned: Absolute lymphocyte count fluctuates wildly for reasons that are usually totally mysterious -- the immune system is itself chaotic. If your physician is not concerned, I would not be either.See 1 more doctor answer
What does it mean if you have some large platelets on blood test? My absolute lymphocyte count is 0.5 lymphocyte 4% neutrophils 86% WBC 12.6
See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your neutrophil count is high suggesting an infection. "Some large platelets" is not a cause for concern.
Wbc count: 14.69. Absolute Neutrophils: 12.74. Absolute Lymphocytes: 0.93. Absolute monocytes: 0.94. Absolute eosinophils: 0.00. What do they mean?
Any symptoms?: Why was the blood tested? Do you have any symptoms? Your neutrophil count is elevated which usually suggests infection, but if you have no fever or other indication of an infection, you may ignore it. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
I have an elevated sedimentation rate, elevated white blood cell count, elevated absolute neutrophils, elevated absolute lymphocytes, & low iron level?
How do you FEEL?: If the white cell values are not extremely out of range, and all are well formed, I would not worry about them. Iron is more worrisome as even without anemia, low values can war of poor nutrition or bleeding from an uncertain or tumor. Nobody here can really tell you much more than that we are glad you are amtaking an active role in understanding your health.
Due to fatigue for 6+ weeks, had a CBC which found white blood cell count low and iron low. Also found my absolute lymphocytes at 630 & normal is 850?
