What Does It Mean When Your Eyelid Droops
I woke up this morning with drooping eyelid in my left eye. I have been having headaches on and off, although I am not having one right now.
Ptosis: sounds like ptosis (a weakness of the levator muscle in the eylid) Headaches suggestive of inflammatory process. Bells palsy can look similar but it is seldom isolated only to the eyelid. Eyelid- yes: The droopy eyelid is called ptosis. It is usually caused by a muscle or nerve problem that is amenable to surgery. The lazy eye (amblyopia )treatment depends on the age of the patient. If the patient is under 12 years old then patching may help improve the vision. Over age 12 the nervous system is developmentally stable and patching will not help improve the vision. ...Read more

My child was born with moderate hearing loss due to nerve damage, Chiari malformation, a droopy eye that doesn't produce tears, and possible seizures. The only thing I did different with her than my other children is take Zofran while pregnant with her. C

Veins?: Sometimes this can be a prominent vein in your thin lower lid skin or it can come from mild fat herniation thru the orbital septum of the lower lid.This commonly occurs with age but not always. This prominent fat can give " shadows" under certain lighting conditions. Blepharitis: Most likely this is blepharitis, chronic crusting, itching, flaking of the eyelids/lid margins. Often this is associated with dryness, grittiness, burning and redness of the eyes. Try using hot compresses each am and a gentle lid scrub (dilute baby shampoo or a wipe like ocusoft) to control, but if symtpoms persist an eye doctor can provide further help/treatment. ...Read more
Dry skin: Dryness under your eyes is usually just that, dry skin. It can also be related to an allergy or even eczema. You can try some simple over the counter facial lotion and see if that helps. Have it checked by : Your eye doctor under a slit lamp. That would be the best to see what it actually is for diagnosis. Hard to say from this as you need to provide more info and medical and ocular history. How long it's been going on? Which eye or both eyes? What exposure to anything, previous infections?
