It would be prudent to determine if the numbness is located on both the medial and lateral sides of the toe or just one. Raynoud's?: If it was just the toe, I would think microtrauma from shoes causing some nerve issues. But, given that it is happening on the hand, it could be more vascular/rheumatologic.
