Probable yeast: Most vaginal discharges are caused from either yeast, bacterial vaginosis, thrichomoniasis, chlamydia or gonorrhea. Yeast has a creamy, clumpy, "cottage cheese" like discharge. Bv has a white thin fishy odor, the other three are detected by testing in the office. Best bet is to try an over the counter anti-yeast creat such as monistat for 5 days. May be (ab)normal: Every woman is different. Some naturally have white thick vaginal secretions while others don't. But if yours has changed, then we worry about infection, especially if you're itchy or if it has an odor. Only vaginal infection that can be treated w/o prescription is yeast.
