What Does It Mean When You Get A Heartbeat Sensation In Your Stomach
In the first trimester why would I feel a heartbeat sensation when laying my hands on my abdomen? And if so, will I feel it as my belly protrudes?
Probably your pulse: during the first trimester it is very hard to hear let alone feel a pulse from the baby. If you want to be certain, when you feel the pulse again, take the other hand and try to feel the pulse in your neck or chest. if the pulse you feel on your belly is the same as your neck or chest, then it is your own. ...Read more
Is it normal that I sometimes feel my heartbeat in my leg, stomach, hand without touching the area? I feel the pulsating sensation.
It can be considered: normal. You probably notice it isn't necessarily all the time..but occasionally one feels spontaneous pulsations. Usually this is when your heart is beating more forcefully or rapidly..when exercising or under stress. It can also happen when you are quiet and still and not distracted by other things. The hand and leg are a little unusual; if it progresses (more places/more often), talk to your doc ...Read more

If you are an at risk pt - get screened. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

It could also mean the main artery, that feeds blood to the lower body, is being felt. Other possibilities too, since blood pulsates throughout your entire body. You should get a thorough history and physical exam, by your doctor for evaluation. ...Read more
Many possibilities: I agree with the other answer given. However, if you are an adult person, the differential diagnosis must include an abdominal aortic aneurysm. You should absolutely discuss this with your primary doctor. Also, if symptoms persist or worsen, a trip to the emergency department may also be warranted. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Not unusual: Most probably, u r a thin person, & the "side" that u r laying on is the left side. The heart & the stomach lay side-by-side (separated only by the diaphragm), & especially when u lean to the left, the pulsations of the heart can b transmitted to the abdomen. You feel it against the hard surface of the floor. To my knowledge, there's no clinical significance of this symptom/finding. TTYD if worr ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
