What Does It Mean When The Ekg Says Ischemia
I had an EKG that was taken in the ER and it showed i was tachycardiac and had an abnormal t-wave with ischemia. What does this mean.
Electrocardiogram (ecg, ekg) is a print-out of the electrical forces detected by electrodes on the chest wall, as electricity travels through the heart with each heart beat. The electrodes are placed in different positions, and each position "sees" the electrical activity of the heart from its own vantage point. Abnormalities in signal detected at chest surface ...Read more
39 yr old male weightlifter. Hypertension palps. Ekg says old antero septal infarct. Consider inferior ischemia. I don't believe it. No pain w exercise?
Posterior wall?: You probably meant to say posterior wall, instead of posterior valve. But it probably means there is a blockage in the coronary artery that is feeding the posterior wall of your heart. This can be confirmed with a coronary angiogram and potentially fixed with coronary angioplasty and stent placement or else coronary bypass surgery. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Stressechoresults: abn stress ECG at 9.1mets, normal exercise stress echo with no evidence of stress induced myocardial ischemia. What does this mean?
The result of my ECG lateral wall ischemia occ. Pvc anterior septal infarct. Whats is that mean? Is that serious?
St-t wave changes, consider inferolateral ischemia on ecg, echo shows heart good. Doctor said are few heart interruptions. What means? 27 yrs. Thanks
ST-T wave changes: ST-T wave changes often are non-specific and may not mean anything. There are some ST-T changes that are the hallmark of heart attack, but I doubt this is your case as you echo was normal. Modern computerized ECG machines will always say "consider ... ischemia" with any ST-T wave abnormality. ...Read more

Poor: It is neither sensitive nor highly specific. It's only one tool among many that doctors use. It's helpful for confirming a clinical suspicion if the history is suggestive and the ekg is either dramatically abnormal or changed from a previous tracing. Its value is increased when performed during the index symptom under evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Resting EKG showed non sprsifuc t wave inversions. Suggesting possible ischemia. But exercise ekg. Was completely normal. Should i worry? I have hbp
Low worry: Nonspecific ECG finding are commonly found. If a person with a baseline ECG abnormality has clinical symptoms which may represent heart disease, a stress test is frequently done to evaluate the symptom. If the stress test is normal, the likelihood of worrisome heart disease is statistically low. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Ischemia is a symptom in which a person does not have enough blood supply to a part of the body, making that part of the body "ischemic". For example, in a heart attack, a coronary artery is blocked so blood cannot get to the heart muscle beyond the blockage point. The heart muscle lacking ...Read more
