What antibiotics combination for paronichia;3atacks in6weeks include flucoxacillin, no result ?

Surgical drainage: Bad paronychia (infections of the skin surrounding a fingernail) often don't respond to antibiotics since the bacteria that are causing it are walled off in an abcess (pus filled balloon). The definitive treatment is surgical, the affected part of the nail or cuticle needs to be opened to allow the paronychia to drain. Why is pain addictive? I mean i hurt or i dont know cut myself for it especially my nails to the extent it becomes paronychia and swollen

Get help: Repeating cutting is self-harm which you say you can't stop because "it's addicting" - as I understand your comment. Please talk to your parents, tell them what's going on and that you need the help of a therapist or psychiatrist. Have them call your pediatrician or pcp to meet and discuss for guidance and a referral. I hope this helps you. Be safe. ...Read more

5 days on Bactrim for Paronychia. Finger still red, swollen. White and red pus coming out. Is it still infected? Does it mean it is healing?

5 days on Bactrim for Paronychia. Finger still red, swollen. White and red pus coming out. Is it still infected? Does it mean it is healing?

This means either the bacteria are resistant, there are other bacteria there, or even fungus. You should go back to the doctor who gave you the Bactrim and ask for the next steps - which could mean a localized treatment (cutting the skin or removing the nail). Try to go ASAP since it's 5 days ...Read more

What does it mean to be "in control of your emotions"? I thought emotions happen and you then deal with the situation?

In control: You're right, emotions arise, and you deal with the situation. Being "in control of your emotions" does not mean not having the emotions -- it usually refers to being in charge of what you do with or about them. When angry, do you physically attack the person you're angry at, or do you speak with them about what angered you? Do you let yourself cool down before acting? These are important. ...Read more

The term from my insurance "medical necessity" what does it mean ? I take dextroamphatim my insurance won't cover it unless it is " medical necessity

Medical Necessity: What this means is that it is necessary for a condition you have. With dextroamphetamine I'm assuming you use it for ADHD. Your insurance company must see an official diagnosis from your doctor. Usually they may require specific testing to diagnosis you. The insurance companies are tightening up and trying to prevent use and pay for medications and test. Hopefully this answered your question. ...Read more
