What Does It Mean When A Baby Turns Purple
Normal in newborns: Newborns will have purle hands and feet and around the mouth can be a little purple. Truly purple lips and mouth need to be evaluated. Acrocyanosis is the technical name ofr the purple hands and feet and it improves with time.
Nickle size bruise on inner left breast since yesterday--purple, red, yellow. Been Carrying babies Not sore Afraid of IBC. Does this sound like that?
Immature circulation: Your baby's circulation is still in the process of developing. Purple hands and feet is just a result of this immaturity. You do not need to be concerned if your baby is otherwise acting healthy. However if his lips or chest turn blue you should see your pediatrician as this can be a sign of cardiac disease.See 1 more doctor answer
Depends on condition: Skin color in infants reflects circulation, oxygenation and hemoglobin saturation. Color is best observed when an infant is quiet. Red lobster like skin is a sign of plethora-due to high hematocrit concentration (high red blood cells vs volume of blood) and blood flow. Purple lips can be a sign of cyanosis-low oxygen saturation in the blood stream if your baby is in any distress/ill appearing.
Veins: They are likely superficial veins. Nothing of concern except possibly cosmetic.
Purple line on nail: Fingernails can have many different signs. Purple lines may represent a couple different things; mole/freckle at the nail base or splinter hemorrhage. The latter is not specific to any disease state, but may be a sign of something else that is going on. If you recently injured your nail bed, that might be a sign of bruising. Http://en. Wikipedia. Org/wiki/splinter_hemorrhage.
Veins: The veins under our skin carry de-oxygenated blood and under skin can look blue or purple. We do have veins in our labia so this could be what you are seeing. Sometimes purple color means that there's a blockage or constriction of some kind, but I don't think that's the case with your labia. If you're worried, see your doctor for an exam. Best of luck!
Easy bruising?: The cause of easy bruising (if your 'splotches' are bruises) can be subdivided into disorders of blood vessels and surrounding tissues, platelet problems, or coagulation disorders. A good history and physical will determine the cause in most cases. If the bruising is confined to the distal extremities, or there is no bleeding elsewhere or family history, labs and further workup may not be needed.
A few things: It could be a blood vessel, a small blood clot, benign blood growth or something else. Have your pediatrician or pedodontist take a look at it so you will know exactly what it is.
Likely normal: It is likely that what you are feeling as "lumps" are normal lobules in the breast. "Purple" nipples is just a variation on the normal color. If you are sexually active, and If you miss your period by 4-5 days, do a home pregnancy test. If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.
Broken capillaries: There has been extravasation of blood from broken capillaries from rubbing the area of sunburn. The skin and collagen in the capillaries are more fragile after sun burn and will heal faster with application of biafine cream. You should also see your doctor to get the prescription and examine your skin to confirm the degree of skin injury.
If no itch nor pain,: And if it looks dry without any skin swelling, it may be on its way to healing. Rashes are difficult to describe in words, so patients usually need to have a doctor look at the skin. One should be sure to use moisturizers that contain sunscreen. (Avoiding exposure to the sun should let skin lighten up. However, one should take extra vitamin D to make up for not getting as much vitamin D from sun.)
