What does it mean when your hyper thyroidism symptoms start to go away while on medication?

What does it mean when your hyper thyroidism symptoms start to go away while on medication?

Hyperthyroid: Hopefully, it means that the medication is controlling the overactive thyroid. Follow closely with your physician for blood tests to make sure that it doesn't go too far the other direction and you end up with an underactive thyroid.

Could an elevation in one's TSH level be indicative of hyper/hypo thyroidism?

Could an elevation in one's TSH level be indicative of hyper/hypo thyroidism?

Hypothyroidism: When the thyroid makes too little hormone (t4 and t3), the pituitary makes more TSH to try to compensate. So an elevated TSH is indicative of a thyroid that has failed or is failing, and you may need to take levothyroxine. See your doctor.

If my tsh low, t3 (liothyronine) and t4 is normal, is it hypo or hyper thyroidism? Should I take iodine? Ultra sound is normal, without pathology.

If my tsh low, t3 (liothyronine) and t4 is normal, is it hypo or hyper thyroidism? Should I take iodine? Ultra sound is normal, without pathology.

Hypothyroid: The answer to this question depends on what your exact levels are and what type of symptoms you have. "Subclinical Hypothyroidsim" sometimes presents in the manner you describe.

does it mean if your thyroid level is low?

does it mean if your thyroid level is low?

Thyroid hormone: A low free thyroxine (free T4) level is associated with an under active thyroid gland, and is usually treated with thyroid replacement therapy. A low thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) means the thyroid gland is over active. So it's important to know which thyroid test is "low"

Please explain what does thyroid level 20 mean to me low or high symptoms?

Please explain what does thyroid level 20 mean to me low or high symptoms?

Thyroid tests: There is not "a" thyroid test, there are many different ones. So it is hard to know what the number "20" means. If 20 is your TSH, that is high, and it suggests your thyroid is underactive. You may have symptoms, which could be fatigue, sleeping a lot, cold, weight gain, and other.

What does it mean when your results from a blood test show thyroid level a little low?

What does it mean when your results from a blood test show thyroid level a little low?

Need more info: Results of lab tests need to be interpreted in the context of whole health status. What test did you have and what was the actual result? It would be prudent to discuss the results with the doctor who ordered the tests.

What does it mean if most of my thyroid levels are in the low normal range and my T3 (liothyronine) is low?

What does it mean if most of my thyroid levels are in the low normal range and my T3 (liothyronine) is low?

Nothing: T3 (liothyronine) is important inside the cell, in the blood, the measurement is usually meaningless. If the other thyroid tests (free T4 and tsh) are normal, ignore the t3, (liothyronine) as it's a waste of your blood and money.

Is it normal to have low levels of autoantibodies against your thyroid & 3.4 u/ml of autoantibodies against gad-65? What would this mean to a doctor?

Is it normal to have low levels of autoantibodies against your thyroid & 3.4 u/ml of autoantibodies against gad-65? What would this mean to a doctor?

No: While it may be common, it is not normal. Low levels show you have had prior thyroiditis, but do not say when or how severe. The gad antibodies are associated with development of type 1 diabetes. Check w/your doctor. Ps: why did you have these drawn in the first place?

My TSH levels are normal, my T4 is almost low? What could this mean? I have 3 hyperechoic nodules on a diffused thyroid. Size. 09 to 1.5 CM.

"almost" low: Means normal, so stop worrying about your lab values. Your nodules, on the other hand, need someone to evaluate your clinical parameters and ultrasound carefully and decide whether you need to have a thyroid biopsy.

What does the following mean: Heterogeneous nodular of the thyroid gland with increased vascularity. As well as low T4 and TSH levels?

What does the following mean: Heterogeneous nodular of the thyroid gland with increased vascularity. As well as low T4 and TSH levels?

Plan: You have to discuss all this result with doctor, who knows your history, symptoms and all medical problems. Most likely you need the treatment for thyroid dysfunction, what depend heavily on numbers in blood work.

What does a normal TSH but low free T4 level mean? Can you have an underactive thyroid with a low T4 alone? Tsh 2.45 T4 7

What does a normal TSH but low free T4 level mean? Can you have an underactive thyroid with a low T4 alone? Tsh 2.45 T4 7

Thyroid function: When TSH is normal and T4 is low this is called subclinical hypothyroidism. It is not treated unless if you have symptoms. Also if TSH > 10 some would start treatment. Hope that helps answer your question.
