What does it mean when urine appears very bright, almost neon yellow?

What does it mean when urine appears very bright, almost neon yellow?

Not much: The urine color typically reflects its concentration and contents. As long as there are no other symptoms, it isn't a big deal. The more concentrated the urine...The more yellow(typically). My urine is a neon yellow color and I don't take vitamins. What could cause this and should I be worried? I drink water and eat ice all day long

Urine color: Normal urine color ranges from very pale yellow/or clear (when it is very dilute) to dark yellow, almost brown when it is extremely concentrated (i.e. You're not drinking enough fluids). Maybe vitamin or not: The color change, by itself, would suggest a medicine or vitamin is the cause. But the pelvic pain and tissue clot are not related to that kind of change and might imply something is going on in your bladder (pelvic pain is almost never from the kidneys which are higher up and closer to your back, but something happening in your kidneys could be affecting your bladder). See your doctor, don't wait. ...Read more

My urine is bright neon yellow (not goldish at all), but I'm not taking any vitamins or medications other than birth control. What could be the cause?

Urine Color: The color of your urine can be changed by dyes in foods, medications, drinks, disease and by ingesting dyes. If you changed the brand of BCP or the generic version it could cause this. The urinary tract medicine pyridium (phenazopyridine) is a common cause as well. Liver disease can cause this as well.
