What Does It Mean If I Have Dark Stool Instead Of Light One
Not usually.: Dark stool is not a frequent side effect of echinacea ingestion. If your stool ever becomes very dark and foul-smelling, you should consider the possibility of internal bleeding and see your physician, however. ...Read more
It might..: It might be completely normal depending on what you ate. However, we would need to know what other symptoms you are presenting. If the stool turns black or has blood, mucus on it it would need further evaluation. If otherwise you are healthy I would just make sure that you eat plenty of fiber (fruits and vegetables), low fat diet in order to produce a healthy bowel movement. ...Read more

What does it mean when one is feeling pain when excreting or releasing stool which also comes out very small?
Stool is darker in one area. Stool was normal sized and also normal in color. Mostly brown but at the end seemed way darker?
All brown colors: Of stool are normal. Abnormally light stools ("clay-colored") may be due to reduced bile associated with liver disease. All dark brown stools are normal UNLESS they are BLACK which suggests upper GI bleeding. Sometimes more or less hydration in one part of the stool may affect its brown color. I wouldn't worry about this any further. Stay well:) ...Read more

Can happen: This can happen. Usually due to changes in diet. If you are consistently taking a fiber supplement, then less likely. You should consider regular fiber in the diet and more water intake. My stools come out in very dark greenish black pebbles. What does this mean? I've had different color, texture, and floating and non float stools

When blood is denatured by acid in your stomach, as from ulcers, stools will turn tarry ("melena"). Blood may also be ingested from nose bleeds, bleeding gums... Persistent melena (without obvious cause) ; symptoms warrants md visit. ...Read more
My stool often comes in 2 stages in one sitting. First stage is firm and light brown, 2nd stage is very loose and very dark brown. Is this normal?
Not unusual: The sigmoid colon acts to solidify and compact stool so what you are seeing first probably comes from that area of the colon. What is up higher may not be so firm because it has not reached the sigmoid yet so it can be somewhat looser. Unless this represents a recent change in bowel habits would not be too concerned but if it is a change would have it checked out by your doctor with rectal exam. ...Read more
