Ige ref. range < or 114. mine are 566 h ku/l what's going on here, what does this mean?

Most Likely Allergy: IgE levels above the normal range are common amongst patients with allergies, asthma, and eczema. If you have these symptoms or diseases then this is nothing to worry about. If you don't have any of these problems, it could represent a parasitic infection and that is usually associated with an elevated eosinophil count on a routine blood count. ...Read more

My 3 years old daughter's serum IgE value is 812.0 iu/ml. What does it mean? If this is bad, can out be cured?

Allergies: An ige elevated to this level is most often associated with atopy (the state of being allergic), and is seen in people with seasonal allergies, asthma, or (commonly) eczema. A level like this is usually nothing to worry about, beyond treating her allergies. Treating eczema may bring the level down some, but she will still be atopic and at risk for allergies. See an allergist for more information. ...Read more

My 8 yr old daughter gliadin peptide IgE is 3 units.does this mean she is mildly gluten sensitive?

My 8 yr old daughter gliadin peptide IgE is 3 units.does this mean she is mildly gluten sensitive?

Hard to tell: The antigliadin antibody tests have a poor predictive value for gluten sensitivity. That doesn't mean she isn't gluten sensitive, its just that the gliadin peptide IgE doesn't really help us know. I would base your decision more off of her symptoms. If she has abdominal pain, diarrhea or consitpation, do a short trial off of gluten to see if those symptoms resolve. ...Read more
