Have chronic pancreatitis having diarrhea with red blood coming out in plops w/sm amt. Bm and what look like tissue what could this be. Been 3 days?
Rectal bleeding: If the blood is bright red this generally indicates it is originating from the lower part of your bowel. It may not be related to your pancreatitis. Have your doctor exam you to see if there is a source for the bleeding. You may require a colonoscopy to find out the exact cause. All the best in getting this sorted out. Watch for low blood with persistent bleeding. ...Read more

My 4yr old has been vomiting w/diarrhea for 1 week+ we r seeing the dr in the am. What does severe dehydration look like? Can i wait until morning?
Behavior?: If he is acting normal, playing, etc., then can likely wait until am. If he just lays around, is listless, no energy, then no. If you gently pinch the skin on the back of his hand and lift it up/away from his hand, if it stays up there, like a little "tent, " then no. If in doubt, go to er. We would rather see ; send home than wish you were earlier. ...Read more

I had a stomach bug with diarrhea and vomiting on Sunday and Monday morning, and then today when I went to the toilet all that came out were 2 lumps of reddish/purple (did not look like excrement). Should I be concerned?
Not yet: Did you take peptobismol or kaopectate? These may darken the stool. Reddish discoloration may have been caused by a small amount of blood from rectum or anus from recent irritation. My advice is to observe for any more possible blood in the stool. If it's noted, have a anus and rectal examination by your physician. A simple stool test in the office can detect any occult blood if still concerned ...Read more
My son gets diarrhea every time he eats any amount of apples, I'm inclined to think he has an intolerance, but have not heard of a reaction to just a few slices of an apple. He has seasonal allergies & chronic bumps on arms/legs look like pimples.
Intolerance: Rather than having an allergic reaction to Apple's, I believe that his intestinal tract doesn't tolerate the skin of the Apple which is insoluble. Try peeling the Apple before feeding it to him. Chronic bumps in his skin may need a dermatologist's evaluation to determine whether they're an allergic reaction to something internal or external. An allergist may also be helpful in this regard. ...Read more
