What Does Baby Look Like At 6 Weeks Pregnant
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
Organogenesis is the: Formation of organs. The neural tube that becomes the brain & spinal cord starts forming at 3 weeks post-conception, followed shortly by the heart & other organs through the 8th week. The cephalic "head" end is larger than the caudal or "tail" end; it kind of resembles an asymmetrical lima bean to me, since it's slightly flexed. I'm sure our OB colleagues can describe it in more detail. ...Read more
Almost like infant: Since human gestation is 40 weeks long, 20 weeks would mark the half-way point in your pregnancy and believe it or not, your baby will look very identifiably like an infant! this is why an ultrasound is performed at around this time (structural survey), where body structures and vital organs are viewed to make sure your baby is growing/developing appropriately. The gender can also be determined. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
