Yes: It is not unusual for the baby's heart rate to be slower when it first starts (around 6 and 1/2 weeks generally). They will likely be much faster, around 160-170 BPM the next time you hear/see them.

I just found out I'm 6 weeks pregnant with our first child. What specific foods should I start eating that will help growing a healthy baby?

Greens and folate (folic acid): Seek prenatal care. Take a prenatal vitamin with folate (folic acid). No alcohol or cigarettes. Eat plenty of leafy green vegetables. Kale is a perfect vegetable for you. Practice eating healthy now as an example for your child: avoid junk food, sugary drinks, and large portions of carbs. You'll feel better and your child will be healthier!

I am 6 weeks pregnant and have a cold is it okay to have a cold while pregnant im concerned about my baby?

I am 6 weeks pregnant and have a cold is it okay to have a cold while pregnant im concerned about my baby?

General rules: Most minor infections like a cold will have no effect on your baby. To bother baby a germ needs to get to them through the blood or make you so sick you are in real trouble. Since simple infections like colds, UTI's, ear or sinus infections tent to remain localized, they are unlikely a problem. Things like the flu, measles or other germs that enter the blood are a problem.

Not from baby: You don't show from pregnancy at 6 weeks. If yo have relaxed belly muscles and retained gas or stool you will pouch out, but don't expect a baby bump for a couple months.

I'm 263lbs and almost 6 weeks pregnant what's the safest way for me to still lose weight and still making sure baby gets everything it needs?!?!?

I'm 263lbs and almost 6 weeks pregnant what's the safest way for me to still lose weight and still making sure baby gets everything it needs?!?!?

Maintain weight: Would not recommend losing weight during pregnancy. Recommendations from the institute of medicine are to keep total weight gain during pregnancy between 11-20 pounds. Consider these: - Meet with a nutritionist to learn how to eat a healthy diet - Continue to stay active if your body will tolerate it. - Early diabetes screen to make sure you're not coming into pregnancy with diabetes

6 weeks pregnant have endometriosis and have a"period" ultra showed baby and heartbeat should I be worried?

6 weeks pregnant have endometriosis and have a"period" ultra showed baby and heartbeat should I be worried?

Aware, not worried: Endometriosis is not a risk for problem pregnancies or miscarriage. Vaginal bleeding early on is common, but sometimes a warning of problems to come (technically it is not a 'period.') the ultrasound with a heartbeat beats everything else, and suggests you're okay. Keep up with your doctor visits.

I accidently dropped a shoe on my tummy, but I'm only 6 weeks pregnant. Do you think it hurt my baby!?

I accidently dropped a shoe on my tummy, but I'm only 6 weeks pregnant. Do you think it hurt my baby!?

Should not hurt: The baby is actually week protected at this point by your body and later on by the amniotic fluid. It would take a pretty hard hit to cause any problems. If you are still worried or have any cramping or spotting please see your physician.
