What Does An Ekg Test Tell You About Your Heart
I'm 22 I have had about 10 ekgs and one eco test all fine so why do I still from time to time think something's wrong with my heart? Aniexty anybody?
Need more info: While ecgs and an echo can diagnose most serious heart conditions, they don't catch them all. But for an otherwise healthy 22 year old with 10 normal ecgs and a normal echocardiogram, it is very very unlikely that you have a serious heart condition. What is the specific symptom that you experience to lead you to believe something is wrong with your heart? Why did you undergo a liver biopsy?
Electrocardiogram (ecg, ekg) is a print-out of the electrical forces detected by electrodes on the chest wall, as electricity travels through the heart with each heart beat. The electrodes are placed in different positions, and each position "sees" the electrical activity of the heart from its own vantage point. Abnormalities in signal detected at chest surface ...Read more
I have had my heart tested up and down. Ekgs and ecgs. Should I count myself lucky and stop worrying about sudden death? All normal tests but a tach.
Ecg: That tach should be determined, were they able to get your egg with an event recorder during the tach episodes? How were your holters?See 1 more doctor answer
What do you advise for heart problems run in my family so I was wondering about an EKG & other types of tests that can be done?
Family history: To start with you need a detailed history and physical, blood work (Lipids, Lpa, CRPhs) ECG and treadmill stress test.
Had about 3-5 EKGs and 3 Chest Xrays (over a time period) for arrythmias but my heart is still normal? Test accuracy? Should I seek further eval.?
Arrhythmias: Further evaluation would depend on the problem and the degree of symptom aggravation you are experiencing. A discussion with your doctor about it is the best next step for you to take. If the symptom isn't really bothering you and if there is no sign of significant heart abnormality, you may not need more testing.
I have anxiety. Worry about my heart. I've had 4 ekg and blood tests that were normal....would they have found something wrong if it was there?
Cardiac neurosis?: If you've also had an echocardiogram and a holter, and they were normal like your EKG, and you can keep up with your peers in your favorite athletic activity, your heart's fine and dandy. Here's what you need to do, Trav. Find a fitness sport that you really enjoy, and get into it really hard. You'll feel your heart getting bigger, healthier, and able to work harder for you. Embrace it.See 1 more doctor answer
Hi I have really bad health anxiety. My heart in particular. I had ekgs, echos, stress test, etc done about a year ago. Should I worry?! I'm scared?!
Anxiety: Anxiety will not cause medical problems, but it can make life miserable. There are great treatments available- talk to your doctor. The feelings can be very scary.
Hi. About 8 months ago I got an echo, multiple ekgs. A stress test and blood work and everything was normal. Anxiety about my heart is back?! Advice?
You may be: The type of person who expresses his/her emotions bodily. Normal bodily feelings can become the focus of phobic feelings. A mental health professional can help w/this. Clinical hypnosis is one option. Peace and good health.
Chest discomfort when I move around. Got EKG & holter test about a year ago dx= normal. Just got a EKG that came out normal. Heart related? I stress a lot
Have chest pain. Got EKG & holter test about a year ago that were normal. Just got a EKG that came out normal. Dx costochondritis. Can it be heart related?
Possible: It is possible but very unlikely to be cardiac pain in an otherwise healthy 27 year old. Having said that, pain should be evaluated by your doctor.
Can you tell me if I had a normal EKG reading, but weeks after im still having chest pains should I worry about a heart attack?
Less likely: A nl ekg does not completely exclude active heart disease. If there are persistent symptoms cardiology eval with echo, stress test and cardiac enzymes may be in order. If these tests are neg and symptoms persist atrial of nsaids for costochondritismay be helpful.See 1 more doctor answer
If all my heart tests are normal (ekgs, echo, stress and blood work) and I had them done a year ago. Should I still worry about my heart? High anxiety?!
You should not.: Worry.Heart disease does not come back that fast after normal tests done a year ago for a person at age 30. Heart disease in general a disease of elderly.
Should I worry about my heart at age 28? Normal ekgs (just shows fast heartrate), normal echo shows normal function, stress test good, blood work good?
Exercise ; eat well: Sounds like your heart is in good shape from your tests. Prevention is always the best. Exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet (low fat, low cholesterol) to prevent any heart problems in the future. Some people have heart attacks at an early age. Genetics, poor diet, and lack of exercise often play a role.See 1 more doctor answer
Do I have any reason to worry about sca/or heart attack at age 28? Normal ekgs, normal echo shows normal function, normal stress test and blood work?!
Heart attack prevent: You are too young to have a heart attack unless drugs are involved (meth) or significant family history of premature cardiovascular disease. You're on oxycodone. Chronic pain can cause palpitations. Exercise will strengthen your health. Stay out of trouble. You shud be fine. Your chest pain and cough may be due to undiagnosed asthma or just plain anxiety. Check with your doctor. Test your lungs.See 1 more doctor answer
I've had an echo blood tests EKG and holter monitor for two weeks. If I had something serious to worry about with my heart would it have been detected?
Heart: I believe so. Those tests are diagnostic.
Heart palpitations more relative at night. And probably from my worrying about it. 22 years old ekg, stress test, holter all good, costondritis aswel?
You're right: You are young and work-ups have been done to assure you you have no heart problem. You are worrying yourself to death. Occupy yourself with things to do, things your really enjoy and I am sure you will feel much better. Sometimes solitude and too much free time can make us feel everything that can be wrong. Correct both and you'll live a healthier life.
Should I worry about sca if my ekgs. My echo. My stress test. My blood work are normal. I'm 28 yrs old with no family history of heart disease. Help?!
Low risk: With no family history, and the normal tests you described, you are at extremely low risk. Take good care of yourself and enjoy life.
Worried about my heart, normal ekgs (just fast), echo and stress test, chest xray good, blood work normal. Do I have any need to worry?!
Random chest neck and shoulder blade pain for about a week now. Ekg and blood test showed normal. Heart related? Heart attack possible?
Probably not MI: You should see your doctor for further evaluation, but, if inconsistent probably not a heart attack.
