What Does Abnormal Thyroid Blood Test Mean
Unclear question: What is a "bac reading"? It may help if you spell out your concern.
Thyroid test is at borderline what could this mean (28 weeks) preg!? 2nd blood test so far both a lil abnormal
Effect of pregnancy?: If the test results are borderline, not clear from the information provided as to which way, it would be preferable to repeat the tests six weeks after delivery. Normal pregnancy alters the profile of thyroid tests.
My T3 (liothyronine) thyroid is 1.75, Which came out as abnormal on the blood test. What does this mean? Should I be worried? Any suggestions? TY!!
Not sure why a t3 (liothyronine)...: Was tested--definitely not a standard screening test. If your tsh is normal there's nothing to worry about. You should speak to your doctor who ordered the test to review the additional laboratory data and answer your questions.
Depends: It depends on what the nurse is referring to. She may be referring to a TSH level being high, in which case your thyroid level may be low (hypothyroid). She may be referring to a T4 or free T4 level being high, in which case your thyroid level is high (hyperthyroidism).
Need more info: Results of lab tests need to be interpreted in the context of whole health status. What test did you have and what was the actual result? It would be prudent to discuss the results with the doctor who ordered the tests.
Thyroid: Everything is within normal limit. Don't worry.
Recent blood test showed ts level 2.32 what's that mean for thyroid if someone is taking levothyroxin at 50 mg and still having symptoms?
See endocrinologist: To check other tests- find out why it is abnormal could be overactive thyroid or underactive pituitary
My blood test results have been delivered by mail about my thyroid function, what does ft4 of 86.3 mean?
Hyperthyroidism: Although I'm a yank and not as familiar with values in the uk, this looks quite high. Normal is up to about 24. You must be feeling miserable: hot, irritable, palpitations, nervous, tremor. Graves disease, a form of hyperthyroidism, is listed as one of your conditions. You need treatment, starting with medications to control your thyroid. See your doctor.
"Normal": I suspect "medium range" means normal. You really should discuss the results of tests with the doctor who ordered them since there may be particulars in your case so that "normal" is not normal.
Could you tell me if someone has thyroid cancer wouldn't the CBC blood test show that something was abnormal?
Cancer: Likely not. The cancer if it spread would likely just affect local structures. Ultrasound is the best method to detect it. Certain lab tests screen for certain types of thyroid cancer.
Scanty periods for last three months means everyday noticing blood brown, black, red for three months kindly help my blood test shows thyroid n testoste?
Borderline: Normal TSH is 10 then treatGet a more detailed answer ›
Under-active thyroid: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, your TSH is abnormal and indicative of underactive thyroid gland or thyroid deficiency. Please consult your doctor for replacement therapy.
A blood test has shown thyroid peroxidase ab is 62.8 ku/l does this raise mean I have hashimoto’s?
Not necessarily...: The first question is why was the test done? If because of abn thyroid labs &/or an abn thyroid ultrasound I would be highly suspicious. Although this value is tech elev it is only min so. This COULD be early Hashimoto's, but values with active Hashimoto's are often as high as the thousands. Diff labs also have diff ways of measuring TPO & can give mildly abn values at times. Need more info...
What does a reading of 62umol/L on my eGFR Female AA blood work mean, as well as 4.55uIu/mL on my TSH thyroid part of the blood test?

Hi, I just had my blood test results and the thyroid peroxidase ab level is 1122.18 iu/ml. What does that mean? I visited the dr feeling tired
Important info: B"sd The TPAb is specific for thyroid peroxidase enzyme. Its occurence is highly related to genetic susceptibilty to Hashimoto's thyroiditis. The most common condition associated with hypothyroidism, occasionaly hyperthyroidism. There is also an increased incidence of thyroid nodules, so in my practise in addition to thyroid function tests, a thyroid US would be done. Glad to discuss further.
