What Does Abnormal T3 T4 Thyroid Results Mean
If my tsh low, t3 and t4 is normal, is it hypo or hyper thyroidism? Should I take iodine? Ultra sound is normal, without pathology.
Hypothyroid: The answer to this question depends on what your exact levels are and what type of symptoms you have. "Subclinical Hypothyroidsim" sometimes presents in the manner you describe. ...Read more
My thyroid function test results t3=1.36(0.6-2.1) t4=7.02(4.7-12.5) tsh= 4.05(0.32-5.2) what does this mean? What should I do
I have a 17 yr old daughter that just got results of TSH of .761
T4 - 9.5
T3 - 19 does this mean she has a hypoactive thyroid?
Thyroid: Not sure what your labs normal values are for T4 and T3, but those look normal and the TSH is low normal, but in under active thyroid cases the TSH is high. TSH stands for thyroid stimulating hormone which is produced by your pituitary gland. If thyroid is sluggish, the pituitary will release more TSH to try and make it produce more, if you are making too much thyroid hormone, the TSH goes low. ...Read more
Tpo >380 normal tsh t3 t4 swollen thyroid for weeks and all symptoms of hypothyroidism, abnormal ultrasound. Does it mean I might become hypo soon?
Yes: The way we monitor the functioning of your thyroid gland is by measuring TSH(Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). As your thyroid gland in your neck produces less thyroid hormone (T3 and T4) your pituitary gland at the base of yr brain signals it to make more by sending out more TSH. If you take thyroid hormone by mouth then the TSH goes down, like a seesaw. ...Read more
My blood results are normal-thyroid=cpk 20.00-tsh .72-t3 39.10-t4 8.09-ra factor<10.00 what is this? I have two nodules in thyroid one 2.2 and other 0.48 with associated calcification. What does this mean?
Tell us TSH: Hi. Not enough information. Is TSH below normal? That's VERY important to know. T4 and T3 can be elevated due to elevated thyroxine binding globulin (TBG) with completely normal thyroid function. It's better to measure free T4 and free T3 than T4 and T3 per se. So I can't tell you if anything is even abnormal without more information. ...Read more
Check free T4: The most common cause for having a high total T4 and T3 level, with a normal tsh, is being on a birth control pill. Being on a birth control pill raises binding proteins that affect thyroid levels, but the biologically active thyroid level remains normal. This is best measured by a free T4 level. ...Read more
My doctor just called and told me my thyroid is overative and the T3 is twice has high and T4 is normal. And that was it. What does it mean? Should I change something? how do I get it back to normal?
Anything: The presence of anti-thyroid antibodies suggests that you are more at risk to develop thyroid disease. The results of total and free t3 and T4 depend on whether the thyroid is under active attack by the autoimmune process and the stage of the disease. Usually there is an initial phase of overactivity followed by under-activity (hypothyroid with low t3 and t4) as the disease progresses. ...Read more
