Had 1/610 for Down syndrome prior to sonogram, found bright spot in heart (soft marker) does that mean the probability is doubled ex. 1/310, high risk?
NT scan shows 3.3 mm thickness, normal blood tests. 1 white spot at baby's heart. Nasal bone present. Everything else is fine. Does my baby had DS?
Can't say...: Those tests are not diagnostic of anything. An increased thickness has been associated with Downs Syndrome, so the risk is thought to be increased BUT IT DOES NOT IN ANY WAY SAY YOUR BABY HAS DOWNS. The echogenic cardiac focus is also very nonspecific and usually means nothing at all. Follow with your doc for the revised "odds". If you want certainty consider amnio (only after understanding risks) ...Read more

Skipped beats daily multiple times, for last 10 days. Many tests before, none in a year now, all fine. Never had this, this often before. Feels like heart stops and I need to jolt out of my spot and cough for it to feel normal again. What could it be?
Cardiac arrhythmia: Your description is suggestive of cardiac arrhythmia due to premature beats. It is not unusual for this to be accompanied by a cough. I am assuming that your tests included and examination and an electrocardiogram and that these were normal. It is not uncommon for premature beats not to be detected during a routine examination. I would advise you to report this to your physician and get his advice ...Read more
