My breakfast will consist of a parfait with the fruit and cereal. Also i'll be having green tea, healthy breakfast, yes no?
Best Diet: I believe that the best diet for healthy aging and disease prevention is a low glycemic diet (that means minimal sugar and refined foods), plant based, and proteins should come from plants, then fish, poultry (the breast without the skin), and then other lean meats with whole grains such as quinoa, millet, brown rice. Eat what mother nature makes, not man. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Will a breakfast consisting only of bananas and green apples be good or bad for health? Is it recommended? Plus soya milk
It Depends: As with all things in life; it depends. Fructose with fiber is good and you also need protein to modulate your blood sugar spike which is bound to happen with a fruit only breakfast. I recommend doing a "smoothie" with a high grade medical food (pea and/or rice protein) along with your fruit. You will be satisfied and keep your blood glucose stable. To your best health! ...Read more

What is a good amount of calories, sugar, fiber, and carbs for granola? I like eating it as a snack for fiber.
Watch for sugar/fats: While granola has a reputation as a health food, most types are loaded with sugar and fat! look for granolas with the least sugar you can find- no more than 10 grams per 1/4 cup. Ideally less than 100 calories & at least 3 gr. Of fiber per 1/4 cup is best. Avoid those with high fructose corn syrup or agave nectar! try making your own: http://foodtrainers.Blogspot.Com/2011/02/oh-no-no-granola.Html. ...Read more

What foods cantain contractile proteins? What kind of a diet (what kinds of proteins) should a Parkinson's patient have?
Come again?: You'd be hard pressed to find any edible animal product that does NOT contain some kind of contractile protein. Muscle IS contractile protein, so any non-organ meat and many organ meats also are LOADED with contractile proteins. I'm curious why you ask. Is there a new contractile-protein scare out there? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What does the body do with excess protein? If you eat a balanced diet and can get enough protein from these meals, what good are protein shakes?
Metabolism: Excess protein is either metabolized to form glucose(sugar) or fat. By definition a balanced diet should have "enough" protein. If you need to supplement your protein intake with shakes, your aren't looking for a "balanced diet", but rather one slighted towards protein intake - I'm not saying that's good or bad. I would encourage you to focus on natural foods rather than shakes. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Many: If you're going to eat seeds, they should be organic, raw ones. Chia seeds come to mind, because they are high in omega-3 fatty acids. Most of us don't get nearly enough of these essential fatty acids in our diets. Also pumpkin, sunflower, hemp, and sesame seeds. Any of these can be eaten as food - you don't have to take a supplement capsule. ...Read more
