What Does A Swallow Test Show
My barium swallow test was negative for anything. What j's the difference of a modified swallow? Will it show something different.?
Card to say: Perhaps the doctor doing the swallow saw something that he says should be followed. You say why you had the swallow in the first place. But if some of the barium went down the wrong pipe like the lung they may want to see why. You should have a talk with your doctor. Fluoroscopy does involve radiation . In the hands of an experienced radiologist this will be kept to minimum ...Read more

Proteinuria: Have a 24 hour urine collection to see the amount of protein in the urine and to assess your kidney function. I would also do a renal ultrasound to assess the size of the kidneys. Depending on the amount of proteinuria, i would send off blood for aso, anca 2, complement c3 and c4, hiv, hepatitis b antibodies, hb a1c and ana. A renal biopsy may also be needed for a diagnosis and a prognosis. ...Read more
What it says: "inconclusive" means that the test, whatever it was for, didn't show a definite positive result for a particular abnormality but didn't definitely rule it out either. A better answer depends on knowing what the test was for; for example, an HIV test can be clearly positive (you have been exposed to the virus), clearly negative (no evidence of exposure) or be equivocal and need more tests. ...Read more
