For the itching you can try oral Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream. However, if the rash persists you should have your doctor take a look. Otherwise consider possible allergens, new soaps, lotions, detergents, jewelry, etc. Hives from a stressful situation usually resolve pretty quickly, so if the rash resolved maybe this was the cause.
