Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Mommy, AreWeThereYet?: Maybe it means that you are pregnant and the baby has a question for you. Or, according to their instructions, it means there was an error in the test and that they want you to do the test again. Tests of various kinds often have to be repeated for that reason, a glitch in the mechanics of the test, or a faulty sample. But I kinda like the first idea. Think about what questions your baby might ask you Read more

Can you get positives on cheap pregnancy test, and then get negative on first response, what does it mean if you do?

Can you get positives on cheap pregnancy test, and then get negative on first response, what does it mean if you do?

Home tests accurate: In the United States home urine tests are all quite accurate. False positives are extremely rare and due to specific medical conditions. But the test needs to be read at the 3 minute mark. If the test is left sitting and read later, it will be falsely positive. If the tests were read at the correct time, it may mean that there was a very early miscarriage of sorts. Read more

Need to repeat: There is some HCG but not enough to be diagnostic of pregnancy. Please repeat the test in 4-5 days, unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. Read more

Just took a first response pregnancy test still negative what to do now?

Just took a first response pregnancy test still negative what to do now?

Repeat or see OB: If you have sx of pregnancy (nausea, breast tenderness, missed menses, fatigue, etc) repeat the test in a couple of days. Don't spend a fortune on tests, dollar store tests can be accurate but you get what you pay for (ie-not the most reliable...). If you want confirmation, see your doc or OB & get your morning urine checked since it's usually more concentrated & easier to see positive results. Read more

Does it matter what time you take a first response pregnancy test or should you wait until morning?

Home Pregnancy: Tests are best done with the first morning urine as it is more concentrated and is more likely to have a higher concentration of HCG. That being said, you could take the test anytime. If it is positive, yippee. If negative, then recheck with first morning. Read more

Too soon: If the only time you had sex was 3 days prior to the test, it was too soon for a pregnancy to show up on the test. Some tests will turn falsely positive if left sitting and read at a later time. Be sure to follow the instructions on the package about when the test should be read. Read more
