What Does A Positive Rubella Test And Ig G Test Mean When You Are Pregnant
How long will a rubella IgM test stay positive for? I have an immunity according to the IgG test. However im pregnant and the IgM test was positive.
When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more
I am almost 9 weeks pregnant and one of the results was my rubella IgG test. It came back positive. Should I be worried? I don't know what to fee.
I just got my results back for a blood test done for the Rubella Ab (IGG). Test is positive my level is 3.05 is that okay? I am 15 weeks pregnant
Yes: That means that you are immune to rubella, likely from the MMR vaccine you would have received as a child. Your baby and you are protected from rubella infection should you be exposed during pregnancy. Though of course if you come into contact with someone with rubella, to be safe you should avoid them going forward. Also, congratulations on being an expecting mom! ...Read more
12 weeks pregnant. I have immunity to rubella according to my IgG test. My IgM test came back positive. Should I be worried?
Are you sick?: Rubella igm can stick around indefinitely after your immunization, or be a false-positive. I would stop worrying. Rubella is a terrible disease when it affects the unborn child, and it is still very much with us as evidenced by outbreaks in europe due to lack of immunization. ...Read more
Depends: The rubella blood test is checking to see if you are immune to the rubella virus. Rubella, also known as german measles, can cause problems for the baby if the mom gets it while pregnant. If igg is positive then she is immune and she doesn't need to worry about german measles. If negative she needs to avoid sick people with rash, and get immunized after delivery. ...Read more
My wife now is in 11th week of pregnant. Her rubella ab IgG test report is 4563.0 & reference range is non reactive < 10 and reactive >=10. Pls advice?
I'm currently 25 years old. My rubella-igg test result is 390mm/iu. What does it mean, what should I do?
Nothing: Your rubella titer is positive...Indicating you have immunity to rubella and that is a good thing. ...Read more
My rubella IgG test came positive 153.9. is it a reason to worry as the doctor did another test after 2 weeks IgM and triple test. ..is it needed?
My 2 weeks old girl has Cong. Bila. Cataract. TORCH igg test results: Rubela and CMV positive, HSV and TOX Neg. TORCH igm : neg. Is this the reason?
If my rubella IgG and CMV IgG tests are positive should I consider for pregnancy, as I had earlier miscarriages.?
Yes: A positive rubella test could show a recent or long past infection. If recent, it might have been the issue with a miscarriage, if long past, something else was likely the cause. If yours is now + you won't need to worry about rubella or CMV for future pregnancies. As long as your system has recovered you can be successful. ...Read more
I'm 11wks pregnant. My Rubella Igg - 183 IGM - 0.88. Another test after 4 weeks Igg 335 IGM 0.45. Is my baby safe? What does increase in IGG means? Help
Rubella IgG: Means previous exposure, IgM > 1.1 denotes recent infection, which isn't your case, and your IgG titers are good. Yes you can have a normal child if you have IgG to rubella, means immunity to the disease, your best bet for having normal pregnancy and a healthy baby is good prenatal care, good luck ...Read more
A pregnant woman's Rubella IgG result shows 154.14 IU/mL (Positive). But she has not vaccinated rubella. What does it means? Pls explain
Most likely, good: News showing her immunity to Rubella. IgG antibodies increase during an active Rubella infection, but not right at its beginning, & stay elevated. If she had symptoms of a viral illness with fever & a rash around the time of conception or during pregnancy, her doctor can order a Rubella IgM titer to make sure that her infection was not recent enough to pose a risk to her fetus. ...Read more
My rubella Igg came out positive and im 19weeks pregnant. Is this mean that I had measles in my first 3weeks of pregnancy? My igm is non reactive.
Unlikely: The IgM will eventually drop off a month or two after primary infection so absence at 19 weeks doesn't tell you much about early pregnancy. Unless you were ill with rubella during that period I would not expect it. This pair of tests are often done in pregnancy and your results is what they expect from someone who received the vaccine as a kid or had the disease before pregnancy. ...Read more
I am 12 weeks having twin pregnancy, having test of rubella Igg, result is 112.1. what does it mean? Is it a normal value? Or should I worried
My blood test shows that- rubella IgG result 33.7 iu/ml (interpretation-weak reactive). What does it means? I am pregnant 19 wks. Is this dangerous?
See details: The igg means little by itself and often just means previous exposure. If the igm is negative you have no worries. If it is positive you may have active issues. My guess is that the igg is not important. ...Read more

Iam pregnant with 7 weeks. I have done my torch test, rubella IgG 32 positive and IgM -ve. Cmv 62 +ve and IgM -ve. Any complications for baby. Pls suggest?

Hello doctor m 16 weeks pregnant n gone thru torch test n got IgG positive for rubella, cytomegalis n herpes please guide?
Actually good news: The tests mean you have immunity to those germs & your baby is not at risk from a infection from most of those mentioned. Germs on that list can infect a mom for their first time during pregnancy & cause a miscarriage, birth defects or worse. This is not a guarantee everything will go well but it is good news just the same. The herpes + means you need to watch for flare ups & sometimes have a cs. ...Read more
When I was pregnant I had the hsv 2 IgG Test. My number was barely over the. 90. Does this mean my exposure was recent? I have never had an outbreak
Distant exposure: I would think a low titer like that would be more indicative of an exposure in the distant past. The body follows the principle of 'use it or lose it' -so there's no need for it to react anymore to the virus. That makes sense too, since you can't recall having an outbreak. That's the tricky thing about HSV-2. It is well adapted to humans and indeed most people don't know they have it. Any more Qs? ...Read more
Good: Your positive rubella igg titer indicates either past infection or vaccination to rubella--also known as german measles this is a good thing. This is normally checked prior/during pregnancy because susceptibility to infection is a danger to the fetus. You are not at risk for infection; if you became pregnant, your fetus would not be at risk either based on these current results. ...Read more

I am pregnant and I had a Rubella IgG ab by eia screening that came up 1.46. What does this mean? Thanks
Rubella IgG: A level of Rubella antibody of 10 IU/ml or more indicates immunity to Rubella. Ask what the reference range is for your test. A positive IgG result indicates immunity either from vaccination or past infection, and having immunity to Rubella is what we like to see in all pregnant women. ...Read more
RUBELLA IgG ANTIBODIES count is 1.96 and I am 8 weeks pregnant now. What is this result means? Please assist me.
Rubella non-immune: It means that you are not immune to rubella and can get sick if you are exposed to a sick person. It is very unlikely as active rubella is a rare case today, but you still need to be careful. You can get vaccinated after delivery as it is a live vaccine and cannot be given during pregnancy. Ask your doctor what will be the best way for you. Most hospitals offer it prior to discharge from L&D. ...Read more
