Depends: If the test was done at school it may mean that the child has fluid behind the eardrum decreasing hearing or may have wax in the ear blocking hearing. When children fail such a test we want to see them as the most common reason is one of the above. If all is clear then an ENT or formal hearing test with an audiologist may be needed. Hearing: If the test was done at school, have it repeated by your doctor or an audiologist. If she is still having trouble with her hearing, she should be referred to an ENT (Ear, Nose, & Throat) doctor for more evaluation. For diagnosis, you will have to bring him to a doctor and audiologist that have knowledge in it, know how to definitively diagnose it, and then treat it. It is hard to say ..: You did not provide enough clinical information. Does this happen in all environments or does he save these behaviors for you specifically. Maybe/maybe not: Only 75% of kids are potty trained at 3.Any kid with a communication disorder will be frustrated and tend to throw fits. Proper evaluation by a speech and language specialist and developmental pediatrician could give a better picture of what is going on. This could just be a developmental speech/language issue, separate from the label of autism or its related disorders. ...Read more
