Hiatal hernia : Small hernias are not to worry about. Your symptoms could be related to reflux disease, which is typically easily controlled with a variety of anti-acid medications. Large hernias, also called paraesophageal hernias, can also cause problems such as pain, difficulty eating, anemia, and bloating. Best to see your primary care provider for a proper eval. I had hernia repair in feb 2015 i am still hurting and burning sensation have been back to see surgeon 3 times & no answers help.. :( ?

Second opinion?: Give it some more time - 12 weeks after surgery as long as its not debilitating. If it is still causing problems, and you're not getting a satisfactory explanation, consider a second opinion form a surgeon interested in hernia disease. Kind of normal: It is kind of normal to have these feeling after a hernia repair. Did you have the surgery as open procedure, or laparoscopic.? Make sure that you follow your surgeon instructions. Apply heat pad and take more ibuprofen than narcotic, and make sure that your bowels are soft and you are going every day.
