What Does A Bilirubin Level Of 35 Indicate
Bilirubin is the potentially toxic product of heme metabolism. It is formed by breakdown of heme present in hemoglobin, myoglobin, cytochromes, catalase, peroxidase and tryptophan pyrrolase. Eighty percent of the daily bilirubin production comes from hemoglobin. It requires conversion to a water-soluble form before elimination from the body by ...Read more
Ast. Level was 38 and ALT 35. Does that indicate liver enzyme function as normal? Following up on question about bilirubin at level of 1.4. Thanks
Nothing if normal: If indirect bilirubin is up, one might be breaking down red cells fast, or Gilbert's is a mild illness in which jaundice is a bit worse if you miss a few meals. If direct bilirubin is up, bile's blocked physically or perhaps by meds or a metabolic kink. If both are up, perhaps the liver cells have been damaged. Variations within the healthy range are meaningless. ...Read more
My body temperature is normal but i feel hot sgpt level is 60 and sgot is 40 bilirubin is 2.7 ESR is also 25 what it indicate it has been since 3 week?
You're sick: Get the care of a competent physician. The "hepamerz" stuff you're taking isn't going to solve anything. You need to find why you've got notably high transaminase and bilirubin. If you're an extreme athlete, taking rx and/or doing lots of alcohol, stop ; retest. Otherwise, labs for hepatitis a/b/c, hemochromatosis, immune hepatitis, wilson's, maybe more. Would encourage you to exercise as well. ...Read more
If my levels of bilirubin and urobilinogen in urine is normal, does this indicate a healthy liver? I'm having routine liver enzyme tests and nervous.
Liver enzymes: While it is encouraging that these urinary tests are normal, they are not enough to ensure that your liver is healthy by themselves. If your doctor recommended routine screening tests of your liver, the blood tests are the only way to go. I would not worry; the vast majority of the people having a routine screening have completely normal liver tests. Good luck. ...Read more

I have elevated CRP and C4 levels. C3 is normal. Last two blood work-ups also revealed slightly elevated bilirubin levels. What could this indicate?
Non-specific: Interpreting blood work can be a very tricky proposition. Each lab values needs to be interpreted within clinical context and in association with other blood tests. Elevated CRP can sometimes be normal, other times it is a marker of inflammation. Elevated bilirubin may also be normal but sometimes can be indicative of blood or gallbladder dysfunction. ...Read more
