What Does A Barely Normal Echo Mean
I am a 54-year-old female that just had an echo and was told that the results were barely normal. What does that mean?
Well that is a great: Get a copy of the report and the we can see. Such an answer makes no sense. Tell your doctor you want your report ...Read more
An echocardiogram (also called an echo) is a type of ultrasound test that uses high-pitched sound waves that are sent through a device called a transducer. The device picks up echoes of the sound waves as they bounce off the different parts of your heart. These echoes are turned into moving pictures of your heart that can be seen ...Read more

What does preserved left ventricular function mean on an echo? Is this something that is normally recorded if everything is normal?

What does it mean for the endometrium: Normal thickness but of somewhat heterogenous echo texture and with several echgenic foci with in?
Endometrial contents: This means that the sonogram detected something inside of the cavity but that they were unable to determine exactly what it was. This is typically followed up with an endometrial biopsy and some method to evaluate the cavity. The two most common approaches are a sonohystogram or a hysteroscopy ...Read more
"Noninvasive hemodynamic assessment is consistent with normal PASP, a nomal CVP,a likely normal LVEDP."What above CVP and LVEDP on echo stand and mean?
PASP= Pulmonary: Artery Systolic Pressure. CVP = Central Venous Pressure. LVEDP = Left Ventricular End Diastolic Pressure. Testing (assessment) most likely with ECHO and Soundwaves (Doppler) (therefore noninvasive) are able to infer the pressures inside the heart (hemodynamics). They apparently were all NORMAL. ...Read more
MV structure appears normal with long mobile anterior leaflet which flattens Slightly in systole. Got told my echo was normal but what does this mean? Why would it say normal if this comment was made? Surely this is abnormal? Do I have valve disease?
If you took a: Picture of a bridge and there were pedestrians crossing it you would say it is normal. If there were no pedestrians crossing it you would also say it is normal. You would describe the bridge and presence or absence of pedestrians either way. The echo interpretation is being descriptive of a normal finding. It is not abnormal it just is the way it is. No valve disease. Normal for you. ...Read more
USG Abdomen report says Normal sized kedneys with mild increase in parenchymal echos — Suggested RFT correlation.
What does it mean?
I had an echo what does this mean: right sided structures: mild tricuspid incompetence. And pericardial space: trace effusion. It says overall normal?
Normal EKG and echo. Does that mean my chances of having CAD is low? If I had cad, wouldn't my echo findings have been abnormal? If not then why?
I had echo done. 25, I don't smoke/drink. I don't have high bp. Echo showed impaired lv relaxation. Everything else is normal. What could this mean?
Diastolic dysfnc: "Diastolic dysfunction" means that the heart muscle relaxation phase is slow or stiff. This diagnosis is often made by echo (ultrasound), but the accuracy of the diagnosis is very dependent on the quality of the echo study and its interpretation. A cardiologist would want to know why you had an echo in the first place, and to consider the findings in context of the rest of your history. ...Read more
Echo findings are within normal limits except for mild to moderate right ventricular enlargement right ventricular systolic pressure 21 mmhg systolic BP 112 ... What does this mean be it bad?
Left-to-right shunt?: The assessment of right ventricular size by is not highly accurate. If the right ventricle truly is enlarged (better assessed by mri) the most likely cause is a left-to-right shunt. "Pre-tricuspid" left-to-right shunts cause rv enlargement. Possibilities include anomalous pulmonary vein connection or atrial septal defect. These are not always evaluated in an adult echo lab. ...Read more

What're signs PVCs are benign vs serious? No axcs to holter, echo, etc. ECG normal. If "gets worse w/ exercise" is a sign. What's "get worse" mean
PVC's w/exercise bad: PVC, preventricular contractractions of the heart (often experienced as palpitations) are a sign of the heart being extra excitable. If exercise brings them on more, that can indicate impaired circulation to the heart muscle when there is more demand-can be a sign of blocked circulation or other issues with the heart muscle. A stress test can give more info." Benign" pvc's often go away w/ exercise ...Read more
I had a surface echo on my heart and my global strain analysis is 19% is that normal? And what does that really mean?
Sounds little low.: Typically, normal global strain 21-30s in labs I know. But each lab or each machine are different. You need to ask the lab you had procedure, what their normal is. We see lower strain in pts with low ef, HTN left ventriculat hypertrophy etc. Can improve if BP or ef gets better. Rec to check with interpreting cardiologist for their normal values. ...Read more
My doctor said I had some increased echo texture on both of my kidneys. The blood work shows they are working normal what does this mean?

Echo & EKG normal just showing some extra beats/pvc's- if those tests are normal does this mean symptoms of skipping beats I feel are harmless?
Not necessarily : Ecg is notoriously inaccurate, especially in the detection of ischemic heart disease. You should find a physician who offers multifunction cardiogram in his office. What does it mean when echo show normal LV, RV with hyperdynamic systolic function, mildly dilated LA with pulm HTN 42mmHg/LA Diam4.0cm, RA pressure 5?
Complicated question: The answer depends on the symptoms that the patient is experiencing, their medical history & condition (including knowledge of what medications the patient was taking), the RV systolic pressure (RVSP), & the "working differential" diagnosis. Unfortunately, this isn't the best forum to discuss. Use HealthTap Prime or relay to Cardiologist. Echo alone cannot diagnose- must interpret in context. GL. ...Read more

Can normal echo and ekg, & cardiologist saying everything is fine mean that my heart is ok even if still have palps sometimes? Anxiety? I'm 19 & scared
Some palpitations: Are normal. Everyone has some irregularity in their heart beat. Some people have more than others, and some people are more sensitive to this irregularity, noticing it and being bothered by it. It sounds as though you have had a very good evaluation and that your heart is probably fine. I suspect anxiety is the main issue. Work on stress reduction — meditation, exercise, yoga, etc... ...Read more
