It can be normal: Each month an egg develops inside a watery cyst, sometimes there are other less mature eggs in their own cysts also. You should discuss your concerns and us findings with your ob/gyn to make sure you understand your options and what was seen.
Take it easy: You should refrain from excessive physical activity as cysts in this size range have a tendency to torse or twist causing excessive pain. Should pain worsen significantly this may be a sign of a medical emergency and you need to seek care in the ER or your with your GYN who is following youSee 3 more doctor answers
I have a 4.7 CM ovarian cyst, very painful! It was found TWO years ago at 3 cm. Should I have this removed? What is the procedure to remove it?
Ovarian Cyst: Most ovarian cysts, even larger ones, will usually resolve spontaneously in younger women. However, if it is very painful for you, you can have it removed by laparoscopic surgery. A camera is placed into the abdomen and it is removed through a tiny incision. It is an outpatient procedure. Hope this helps.See 1 more doctor answer

Follicle: Every month your ovary makes 5-15 small cysts and one eventually enlarges to 1-2 cm, eventually releasing a single cell 'egg'. If your cyst does not go away in 6-8 weeks, you should contact your gynecologist.
