Hello. : Hello. You are asking about indentifying stage 1 lyme disease. First, lyme disease is a bacterial illness caused by a spirochete called borrelia burgdorferi. Deer ticks transmit this bacteria. Within one to four weeks, early infection can present with a rash where the tick was attached. It is circular and sometimes looks like a bullâ€™s eye target. It is red and enlarges with time. Be aware however, that some people have no noticeable symptoms of lyme disease initially. It's hard to say....: ...without more information and seeing the rash. If it's itchy it could be insect bites (chiggars) or scabies. If co-workers have them, they could be from something @ the guitar plant. Chigger bites go away within a week (unless u r re-exposed). Scabies can last a long time w/o treatment.
