Found a tiny deer tick attached to my hip while in the shower. Non engorged only a few hours after being in woods. Do I need preventative deoxycycline?

Wouldn't worry much: If these were infected ticks, they need to feed on him for about a day before the germ is passed.Giving him a good look over was the best thing you could do and removing them soon after the trip did the most to limit problems. It's hard to say....: ...without more information and seeing the rash. If it's itchy it could be insect bites (chiggars) or scabies. If co-workers have them, they could be from something @ the guitar plant. Chigger bites go away within a week (unless u r re-exposed). Scabies can last a long time w/o treatment.
