What Do The Letters Qrs Mean On The The Electrocardiogram
Electrocardiogram (ecg, ekg) is a print-out of the electrical forces detected by electrodes on the chest wall, as electricity travels through the heart with each heart beat. The electrodes are placed in different positions, and each position "sees" the electrical activity of the heart from its own vantage point. Abnormalities in signal detected at chest surface ...Read more
Abnormal treadmill stress electrocardiogram at 9.1 METS, but not associated with significant echocardiographic changes. What does this mean?
Ecg report measurement results are ECG measurement results- qrs 100ms qt/qtcb 366/417ms pr 138 MS p 104ms, what does this mean?
Normal values: That is a list of standard intervals and segments measured as a part an ECG. Those numbers look pretty normal, of course there is much more to the ECG than just those standard measurements, things like rate, rhythm, axis, ST/T wave abnormalities, q waves etc. ...Read more
No: No. There are multiple reasons why an EKG shows 'changes'. In fact, EKG is a measure of the electrical activity of the heart, and for this reason anything that influence this can cause ekg changes (electrolytes abnormalities, temperature, microvascular problem, disease of conduction sytem, etc..., as well as poor blood supply to the heart, such in the case of MI) ...Read more
No such thing: Borderline ekg is like borderline diabetic or borderline pregnant. No such thing! Ekg shows the electrical impulses in the heart. There is a wide range of normal patterns; normal! There also other electrical deflections that are clearly not normal, i.E heart attack, hypertension, etc. I would recommend the ekg being viewed by an expert like an electrophysiologist, if your doctor is unsure. ...Read more
Low Potassium: Flat t waves can indicate that you are low in potassium (k) or that you are experiencing some ischemia (lack of oxygen) to your heart. Was this a routine ekg? Or was it a stress test? Depending on the answer, your doctor may want some more tests to evaluate blood flow to the heart. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
EKG low voltage: Low voltage means that what are called the qrs complexes are smaller than usual. There are many possible reasons, including a barrel chest, copd, cardiomyopathy, infiltrative diseases, severe hypothyroidism, pericardial effusion, obesity, to name a few. Sometimes no significant underlying reason is found. Discuss with your doctor for clarification of your particular situation. ...Read more
Ecg: There is tissue in the heart that conducts impulses similar to wiring. We call these 'bundles'. On the ecg we sometimes see conduction blocked in one or more of them. These findings are called bundle branch blocks. There are left and right types as well as left anterior and left posterior types. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
