I get tonsil stones. Ive had a white pus cyst on my tonsils for over 6 mths and a specialist advised it is nothing & may go. Is it safe if i pop it?
Yes: yes it is ok to pop it but beware of a "fun" taste and then do a warm salt rinse afterwards. You might have some slight bleeding so don't be alarmed. You can also have them sucked out with a small surgical suction tip. Connect with my Virtual Practice on Healthtap for any dental questions with my special keycode: DFWMCQ! I had surgery to remove a dental cyst now when i bend forward i get shooting pains through right side of my face, runny nose metal taste in my mouth?

Antibiotics would be prescribed along with precautions regarding creating pressure between the mouth and sinus such as drinking through a straw. If it doesn't close on its own surgery would be required. Follow-up with your dentist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

No: Although this is most likely a benign cyst, it is not small. 9mm is almost 1/3 of an inch. If it is not tender with redness around it, and it has been there for months, i would not worry about it. A 2-3 mm. Cyst is what i would call small. Watch it over the course of 6 months and if it remains the same size, i would not worry, but have an ENT doctor check it to give you some peace of mind. ...Read more

Ive had a tonsil Cyst for 3-4 years . hasnt caused any problems. Is it dangerous or can it be cancerous?
Had tonsils removed along with a cyst in my left sinus 5 days ago. What should I expect over the next few weeks?
Post surgery: Tonsillectomy in adults results in a significant sore throat after surgery with possible low grade fever, ear pain, and bad breath. Be sure to keep drinking a lot of fluids and do not get dehydrated. The removal of the sinus cyst may cause some nasal congestion and a little blood drainage from the nostril for a week or so. Contact your doctor if you have any significant bleeding or fever. ...Read more
