Related or not?: There are lots of possibilities here, all of which can be addressed by a physical exam and appropriate testing. Migraines for example can affect both head and gut ("intestinal migraine"). Please however don't contribute to your stomach upset by taking excessive nsaid's aimed at alleviating head ache. GI disturbance: There are numerous possibilities here and an evaluation would have to be rather extensive. See a gastroenterologist if necessary. Yes, "stress" may create physical manifestations with the GI tract as a target (called somatization), but before making that assumption you should be sure it is nothing more serious. Aside from perhaps simethicone to reduce gas discomfort with diarrhea, no medicines are recommended for children with these symptoms. The best thing to do is encourage fluids, particularly with electrolytes, to help with hydration. Avoiding lactose-containing foods can help. Discuss first: Avoid pepto unless your doctor thinks that is absolutely necessary. You said 'not fully diarrhea'. There's a thing called the gastrocolic reflex, so when you eat if there's any stool in thecolon there's at least an urge to go. It's a normal thing, don't get excited about that.
