What Could It Mean If You Get Hives When You Get Your Menstral Period
Urticaria: Urticaria, or hives, can occur during times of stress - both physical and emotional. Menstruation can cause both. Hives, as with most allergic reactions, are additive, meaning that little thing you may be allergic to (food coloring, pollen, etc) may add up to a flare-up, and worsen with stress. Controlling some of these with antihistamines (claritin, benadryl, (diphenhydramine) etc) may help. ...Read more
The menstrual cycle begins with the shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in bleeding from the vagina. A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more

Many possibilities: This could be a result of several different issues and it greatly depends on your age and overall health. For young women this can be completely normal. My period just finished about a day or two ago, any chance I will get pregnant on the 8th/9th day of my menstrual cycle?
You tell us: You are asking the wrong question. We cannot possibly know when you ovulate in your cycle. The period is meaningless in this question. Ovulation is the cornerstone of your menstrual cycle and at 23. I would hope you know this and know when you ovulate. Sperm cause pregnancy if left in the vagina on any or all the five days before ovulation are the sperm that will cause pregnancy. ...Read more

Can she get pregnant if we had sex on the 7th day of her menstrual cycle. It was her last day on her period.?
Yes if no prevention: It is unlikely that a day 7 intercourse episode produces a pregnancy, but it has happened before in the cases where the patient ovulated "early" or she was unsure of her menstrual dates. Contraception is the most secure way to engage in sexual intercourse whenever it occurs in the menstrual cycle. ...Read more
Period on july 2-5. Did sexual activity on july 9-10. If I became pregnant within those times will I get my next menstrual cycle?
NO: Your cycle starts with sloughing of the uterine lining because you are not pregnant. For an average 28 day cycle, you ovulate around day 14. The egg goes through the fallopian tubes to the uterus. If it is fertilized by sperm it will then implant in the lining of the uterus. The hormone changes with this will prevent your next cycle from starting. If no implantation your cycle starts over. ...Read more
Why is every other menstrual cycle shorter and with worse PMS than the other? When I get panicky painful PMS that period only lasts about 2 days
My menstrual cycle is not regular at all but I had sex last Wednesday I have come on my period today. Does that mean there is no way I can be pregnant?
Correct, but...: A woman having her normal regular period today is not pregnant today. Of course, if she gets pregnant in a week or two or three, then she will miss her next period. That's how happens... for everyone. However, a woman can have vaginal bleeding that is not her normal period... so it can be hard to guess if a woman is pregnant or not. A home urine pregnancy test is very accurate 3 weeks after sex. ...Read more
How can I calculate my menstrual cycle and "fertile" period? I am having hard time calculating the length of my menstrual cycle. Every time I get a different amount of time. I have a 2 year old daughter and now we are trying for a boy and I heard and read
The theory around timing of intercourse and gender of baby is this:
1. The y chromosome is smaller than the x chromosome - so sperm with y chromosomes swim faster.
2. If you have intercourse at the time of ovulation - the first sperm to get to the egg are the y containing sperm.
3. If you have intercourse before ovulation - the later sperm (supposedly x containing sperm) will be the ones hanging around waiting for the egg once it ovulates
this is purely a theory and has not be proven.
You are most fertile in the middle of your cycle, near ovulation.
If you have 31-32 day cycles - you are most likely ovulating around cycle day 15-17.
In general, I recommend starting to have intercourse every other day between cycle day 10 and 20.
I hope this helps! ...Read more
