I would start with a good stress test or other screening cardiac workup (EKG, stress echo, and calcium score, maybe), then rule out peripheral vascular problems, then check nerve function. There are a lot of: possible reasons for a slow heart rate and chest pain. 44 isn't too slow when your usual is in the mid fifties but it sounds like you have more than that going on with the nausea too. Get checked out: The symptoms you describe could certainly be explained by a heart attack. Not everyone has the "classic" symptoms of crushing chest pain when they have a heart attack.
