What Could Be Causing My Enlarged Thyroid If I Have No Other Serious Symptoms
Autoimmunity: Goiters, or enlarged thyroids, may be associated with high, low, or normal thyroid levels. Often, if the thyroid levels are normal, there is no need to do anything but keep an eye on things. Autoimmunity, where the immune system makes antibodies against someone's own proteins, is the cause for most thyroid problems in the US, including goiters and nodules as well as high & low thyroid levels. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Monitoring Centers: The lymphatic system absorbs and carries things too big to go into the arteries and veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge/hardenenla in response to the inflammation created when they react. ...Read more
Throat discomfort so had thyroid ultrasound. 'mildly enlarged' no further action from my doctor. could it be causing the symptoms? what should I do?
Thyroid & Symptoms: In light of your ultrasound, a "mildly enlarged" thyroid is very unlikely to be causing your throat discomfort. A esophageal stricture was mentioned in your findings - and this can cause throat discomfort if it is located high up. It is wise based on the thyroid ultrasound to be sure your TSH level is normal since the ultrasound finding can at times be associated with a change in thyroid function. ...Read more

What to do if I have many symptoms of enlarged prostate gland and i'm becoming worried. What could happen?
See urologist timely: Prostate size is not always linearly related with voiding symptoms. Voiding symptoms for a 34-y-o man may result from poor relaxation of bladder neck or urethral stricture. To detail & elaborate possible causes for troubling voiding in an individual young man, go to see a urologist for proper evaluation and Rx. 400-letter space and online discussion are not enough to detail, So, again, go to see.. ...Read more
Could my tiredness be caused by adrenal fatigue or would it be inked to my cyst I never knew I had this not had any other symptoms no bleeding?
Tiredness: There are many causes of your symptoms. A failure of your adrenals, Addison's disease, causes fatigue, but this is rare, and unlikely as a cause. The term "Adrenal Fatigue" is popular on the internet, but is mostly a myth. Adrenals either work, or don't work, and you would need an ACTH test to figure that out. ...Read more

I get terrible sinus headaches without any other sinus problems. What could be causing this if I do not have a sinus infection. I also have chiari?
Oxymoron: I do not think it is possible to have "sinus headaches" in the absence of acute sinusitis. You may have headaches for other reasons. I am presuming that an x-ray of the ethmoid, frontal and sphenoid sinuses were clear. If that is so you can not call this a sinus headache. If x-rays were not done, then see an ENT doctor for a specific diagnosis and treatment. Migraine needs to be ruled out. ...Read more

Swollen lymph node: The glands on either side of the neck, under the jaw, or behind the ears commonly swell when you have a cold or sore throat. Glands can also swell following an injury, such as a cut or bite, near the gland or when an infection occurs in the mouth, head, or neck.
