Hmm: Pale or light colored stool can be related to lack of bile salts. I do not know what the cause is of bits of white material in the stool (if that is how it appears)l. If stool is predominantly white or light than possible causes include hepatitis, cirrhosis, or obstruction of a bile duct (i.e., gallstone or a mass). Any significant change in bowel habitus warrants assessment. ...Read more
What causes white dot fluffy mucus and lots of bright red blood in a dark runny stool with a very foul odor?
White specks: I can’t diagnose the reason for the white spots in your stool. Possible causes can be increased mucus in the stool because of irritation of the gastrointestinal tract or infections. Some foods can cause this. A gallstone when passed could have this coloration. ...Read more

Many possibilities: From infectious colitis to inflammatory bowel disease to certain types of tumors, all can produce this in your stools. Greasy vs. mucusy?: Are you seeing oily stools with floating oil droplets (which implies fat maldigestion from use of dietary fat blockers, pancreatic and/or biliary disease, small bowel malabsorption, or excessive dietary fat intake) vs mucusy stool (due to a range of conditions from inflammatory, infectious, ischemic, or "functional" due to rectal dysfunction, colon delay, or irritable bowel syndrome)? What is this large blob of extremely thick off-white ccreamy substance on top of my stool accompanied by extremely painful "blue balls"?
My stools come out in very dark greenish black pebbles. What does this mean? I've had different color, texture, and floating and non float stools
Possibly melena?: Dark-colored stools may result from iron supplements, foods you eat (like a lot of spinach), substances (like peptobismol), but most significantly suggests bleeding. When blood is denatured by acid in your stomach, as from ulcers, stools will turn tarry ("melena"). Blood may also be ingested from nose bleeds, bleeding gums... Persistent melena (without obvious cause) ; symptoms warrants md visit. ...Read more

Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, & even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum. Stool studies & exam should help to at least start addressing some of these possibilities. ...Read more
What could cause white specks in stool? They're very small, almost like seeds or bits of feta cheese. Rest of stool is brown.
Probably not feta: Feta cheese would not look the same coming out, but sesame and other small seeds do look almost identical in your stool. Otherwise unless you are sick in some way , having unintentional weight loss, blood in stool, then this is unlikely to be significant and almost certainly something you ate. ...Read more

What causes feces to be nearly white in color? Diarrhea 2 days (green) then white feces, with gas
Hello, : Hello, when the feces transits too fast through the colon, it doesn't get adequate liquid reabsorbed by the body.
