What Causes Tricep Swelling
I had a tetanus booster injected on my left tricep yesterday. Is swelling and warmth to the touch at the site reasons for concern?
No: Unless this persists beyond a day or two it is an occasional occurrence with this immunization.
Swelling is the enlargement of organs, skin, or other body parts. It is caused by a buildup of fluid in the tissues. The extra fluid can lead to a rapid increase in weight over a short period of time (days to weeks). Swelling can occur all over the body (generalized) or only in one part ...Read more
I did an arm workout 3 days ago and have had progressive upper arm tricep muscle weakness, aching, swelling, hurts to move & flex my arm. Pain 7/10.?
What could be causing sever pain and popping of the tricep muscel caused from impact with the ground symptoms are 4 days old?
Probably not: The two muscle groups act in concert one is a flexor, the second an extensor. Thus, you can exercise both at same time and achieve symmetry and balance.
Not typically: Ulnar neuropathy is a nerve entrapment at the elbow with typical symptoms of numbness of the small 1 and 1/2 fingers and weakness of the intrinsic hand muscles. Pain in the triceps can be from a herniated disc in the neck at the c7 level. Subluxation of the triceps muscle can mimic both conditions. A good physical exam, complimented by emg/ncs can confirm the diagnosis.See 1 more doctor answer
Can an injury to the long head part of tricep cause pain to the shoulder and directly underneath your elbow?
Extreme sharp and stabbing pain in left arm tricep. Haven't been working out just came on suddenly what could cause this?
It pains only when I touch, near lateral head triceps brachii. Is it fibromyalgia? Can this be the cause for the referred shoulder pain?
Local myalgia: Muscle co-contraction (i.e., muscle splinting) is a reflex protective response that is mediated through the cns. It results in muscle tightening (i.e., guarding) to protect the injured part. Usually there is no pain until the injured part is moved. To be included in the diagnosis of fm, the pain should be located in at least three out of four quadrants of the body or along the entire spine.
Leaning on my leftarm caused pain in my upper arm next to the tricep, bending my neck to the right increase symptoms+i have nck, bck pain, its been 7mnth?
Arm pain: Sounds like a cervical nerve root or brachial plexus nerve problem. Follow up with a neurologist Good luck
What can cause spontaneous muscle detachment? 54 yo male. 2 bicep, 2 tricep detachments, 5 hernias
Genetics: You could have a connective tissue disorder that is genetically determined. While many of these are probably not able to be diagnosed, some are, and include ehlers-danlos syndrome and marfans syndrome. May be just bad luck too. Sorry to hear about your disconnections.
Injured shoulder. No bruise or visible swell (though r. cuff tendons feel larger than norm). Sometimes I have crepitations in upper tricep? What is it?
Think MRI: The swelling and crepitations are worrisome. Depending on how it was injured, a rotator cuff injury is still my thinking. The sooner you see your doctor the sooner you can make a diagnosis and start healing.
Can ThoracicOS cause pain in the tricep in the back upper arm, if not, what NERVE could cause this, and in specific what muscles does ThoracicOS affect?
I have red dots on both my upper arms, primarily in my tricep area...What is the cause and what can I do to get rid of them?
Keratosis pillaris: Keratosis pillaris, usually a benign and asymptomatic skin condition, commonly presents as you have pointed out, often involving the upper arms, but can be seen elsewhere on the body as well. If this is the condition you have, daily use of exfoliating moisturizers containing Lactic Acid or urea may help. Topical tretinoin may also be very effective.
I'm voltaren (diclofenac) on left tricep, has hard lump, really sore. I read that im voltaren (diclofenac) can cause necrosis. My whole body is also sore like with fm. Necrosis?
My right arm keeps twitching between my bicep and tricep. What is the likely cause and treatment?
Fasciculation: Most of the time a muscle "twitch" (or fasciculation) is totally normal. However, it can be a sign of nerve disease (lower motor neuron disease). If there was a nerve disease, I would also expect to have some evidence of sensory or strength loss on exam (and in the patient's list of complaints). Additionally I would expect reflexes to be reduced or absent. Without these, it is probably normal.
I have C7 fracture with pars in miami brace 9 weeks now recently started getting pain in left tricep is this cause for concern?
Potentially: You should let your doctor know. The possibilities can include simply that the healing process, which involves an inflammatory mechanism, may be irritating the c7 nerve, but it might also mean your fracture has displaced and is pushing on your c7 nerve root. You should be seen and have an xray. Thank you for your question.
Lack of ATP: After your workout, you've depleted your muscle stores of atp, which is the energy unit your body consumes. Atp is required for the muscle to relax. The cramps lessen as your body regenerates atp.
