What Causes Trembling Or Shaking Of The Hands With Age
Different things: Different things, some come on with age, others are like a parkinson's disorder.
Many causes: Hyperthyroidism, heredofamilial tremors, or benign essential tremors can cause shaking when holding an object. Parkinson's causes resting tremors. Cerebellar problems, and ms could cause tremors on coordinated activities. Wilson's disease causes wing beating tremor. Anxiety, if intense, can result in trembling. If any of this describes you, check with your doctor.
Feeling my hands are shaking while using but when I watch them at rest there is no shake. It is like perceived trembling but a strange one.Parkinsons?
Some thoughts: Parkinson rare at your age. Do other people see the tremor? If so, make movies to show your doctor. If not then very fine, rapid tremor could be thyrotoxicosis. More common is mild essential tremor (see web for discussion). Bilateral (both sides)? Symmetrical (even both sides)? Make notes about when it is there and also not there. Give movies and notes to doctor as part of eval.
I am experiencing shaking hands or tremor and trembling. The following also describes me: Memory problems. What should I do?
Shaking & Memory: There are multiple causes for both of the symptoms you mention and it is very important to find out what is happening. Please see your doctor. Sometimes tremors are from unknown causes as we get older. Memory issues may be from fatigue or anxiety. Getting a good diagnosis will let you know how to deal w/this; Peace and good health.
I just recently started shaking in my hands. When i bend down it gets really bad in my knees. What could be the causes of this?
Shaking: It could be due to several reasons such as thyroid over-activity, and brain diseases. Best see your doctor.
What could be the cause of my shaking hands? My dads hands shake too and he is a smoker but I am not and they get worse when i'm mad or nervous.
Tremors: Is shaking only when hands are in motion or even at rest?. Several causes exist, such as essential tremors, drug-induced, parkinson's, systemic disease, psychogenic (such as stress or lack of sleep), fatigue, too much coffee, low blood sugar, overactive thyroid. Worth getting evaluated to rule out medical causes. Most likely, yours is essential tremor & can be effectively treated.See 1 more doctor answer
Hands Shake: Stress, caffeine or tobacco overuse and, sometimes, certain seizure disorders can be the culprit. Are the sx worse at night? If so, avoid these products late in the day. And is is always wise to try to eliminate stress. Also, hyperthyroidism can be the underlying cause. If the shakes don't go away, it would be best to make an appointment with your doctor and discuss the problem thoroughly.
My hands been shaking for the past 2 days lately i've been under a lot of stress. I blacked out yesterday when i got up off my seat what is the cause?
I am not sure.: You may have had postural hypotension causing you to black out. Hydrate well. Blacking out can lead to significant injury. You need medical evaluation. Take care.
Unlikely: Masturbation is most likely to cause both pleasure & some feelings of guilt, depending a lot on a kids culture. It does not cause neurological symptoms. If a kid finds that they are experiencing some tremor, or fine continuous movements in their hands, they should have their physician look into the process. I'd be looking into an overactive thyroid or other issue as the culprit.
Yes: SSRI's have a nasty side effect of causing agitation if you happen to be one of the unlucky ones. But before discontinuing the Prozac, (fluoxetine) check for other causes--allergies, alcohol or drug use/hangovers, localized muscle trauma, other medical issues, etc. Consult your MD before changing any medications...
Many: The differential diagnosis for tremor is quite large, i.e. there are many possible causes, ranging from too much caffeine, to anxiety, to a host of neurological disorders. See your primary care doctor and if he/she can't figure it out, ask for a referral to a neurologist.See 3 more doctor answers
Embarrassing, i'm 33 year old and been suffering with uncontroll hand shaking. What can cause this?
Essential Tremor: At your age the most likely diagnosis is essential tremor if you are not taking any medications that are causing this. Progressive, mainly symmetric, rhythmic, involuntary oscillation (tremor) of the hands and forearms that is usually absent at rest and present during posture and intentional movements. Essential tremor (et) can also involve the head, jaw, and voice.See 1 more doctor answer
