Can it be that too much ketones in the urine due to low food intake in the long run cause my type 1diabetes?

No: Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disorder caused by your body attacking the cells in your pancreas that produce insulin. It has nothing to do with your diet. Some autoimmune diseases can cause lip swelling. Kidney problems will likely cause swelling in more places. ...Read more

Why does too much dietary intake of sodium possibly lead to a stroke or TIA? Is it that the blood level gets too high or the blood pressure?

Why does too much dietary intake of sodium possibly lead to a stroke or TIA? Is it that the blood level gets too high or the blood pressure?

Dietary sodium: This is a sophisticated question. The answer is complicated. Dietary sodium (salt) tends to increase the circulating blood volume; some people are more sensitive than others. Kidney neurohormonal factors regulating the blood pressure are affected. In the end it is high blood pressure which over many years can damage arteries and lead to increased risk of heart attack and stroke. ...Read more

Iam 6 foot 1 210 lbs what the correct amout of water to drink and can to much case ones bp to spike?

How much water? : The right amount of water to drink depends of your metabolism, your diet, amount of activity, and the weather. Restless leg: Restless leg syndrome (RLS) can be associated with such symptoms, although the actual muscle weakness on exam (not just by symptoms) is unlikely. See your doctor if the diagnosis hasn't been confirmed. If it has, iron supplementation (ferrous sulfate) usually is rapidly effective (a few days) in relieving symptoms. Sometimes, but not always, there is also iron deficiency anemia. ...Read more

What would be the main cause of low total protein and low Urea in SLE?
Many Thanks.

Just numbers: Low serum urea never means anything worrisome; most often you're just not eating a whole lot of protein. Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside on either end. I'm a lab specialist and want to reassure you that these mean little outside the clinical picture. Low total protein may indicate chronic inflammation without antibody activation, urinary wasting, others. ...Read more

Can high blood preasure an being over weight be the cause of left foot swelling up?

Usually: When only one foot is swollen, it's an indication of something wrong with the foot, ankle or lower leg that's swollen. Blood pressure can lead to swelling if untreated, but usually in both feet, not one. Being overweight can make treating whatever is wrong more difficult, but it's not the cause of swelling. I suggest you either consult with your pmd or see a dpm about the swelling. Good luck! ...Read more
