What Causes Rough Patches On Knees
I have very dark rough patches of skin on my knees from where I crawled around when I was a baby. Is there any way to get rid of these?
A specific patch just below my right knee, hair keeps growing back twice as quick, twice as long and twice as dark, could my medications be the cause?
Not likely: Unless the medication is a patch for blood pressure or cream you are putting on the area, etc. An ingested medication would cause a side effect not just at one body part. Moles and or other skin conditions are more likely to cause hair growth in specific patterns and singular areas, get evaluated by a dermatologist (skin dr.) to get definitive answer. Good luck to you. ...Read more
What cause painful pinkish inner/dark red edges patch with a pea size lump underneath it? Located on the lower inner right thigh close to knee.
Shingles?: Without being able to look at it, I would hesitate to attempt a diagnosis. That being said, if it is painful, and has a "blister" look about it, it could be shingles, which can be treated. Get it looked at soon as getting on the antivirals for it sooner would give a better outcome. If, of course, it is shingles. ...Read more

With time, the color should normalize and blend with the surrounding skin, as long as dermatitis does not flare up in the interim. ...Read more

Many children are knock kneed, or have genu valgus. As long as the angle is small, it usually does not cause pain. On the other hand, if there is a history of trauma, or infection, and the deformity is not symmetric, or mild, it may cause a significant force imbalance.
This can lead to issues with the ligaments and cartilage with resultant pain. ...Read more
Many reasons: The most common and likely cause of cracking/popping in front of the knee is an irritated or early wear of the knee cap cartilage or the surface cartilage of the thigh bone that it rubs. Other causes could include a meniscus tear, plica, patellar tendonitis etc. Some fluid build up in the knee causes cracking. Try therapy, antiinflammatories, ice and sometimes a knee sleeve. See orthopedist. ...Read more
