Difficult to tell: Without seeing the urine and testing it, it is almost impossible to know what this is, but you should not be concerned with the appearance of the urine unless you are symptomatic in some fashion. May well be diet related.

I have what looks like shiny oil droplets in my urine....also stay swollen all over especially in feet and hands. What can cause this?

I have what looks like shiny oil droplets in my urine....also stay swollen all over especially in feet and hands. What can cause this?

Kidney: The answer is a lot of things. But with your history of high blood pressure kidney disease tops the list. Especially if the oily droplets in your urine foam up, it could be a sign of your body losing protein in the urine. This would be a start. But the list also includes thyroid disease, diabetes complications, heart disease, liver disease and others. You should get a full check up.

Can extra strength krill oil 500mg mega red brand cause a little blood in urine? I just had a physical for a job and they told me.

Can extra strength krill oil 500mg mega red brand cause a little blood in urine? I just had a physical for a job and they told me.

Not likely: It is not likely, but possible. Go ahead and stop the krill oil and then recheck your urine in a couple of weeks. If all is clear, then maybe your need to stay off. If the blood is still there, then you need a work-up to see why. Take care.

Fish/krill oil: Can predispose people bleeding due to effects on platelets (one of your clotting cells) but hematuria or blood in the urine would be uncommon. You need a further evaluation for causes of blood in the urine.

Why does my daughter have orange oil droplets in her urine?

Why does my daughter have orange oil droplets in her urine?

Oil In Urine: I would consider two things. First, eating certain oily fish can cause oil in urine and in bowel movements. Second, unusual things in urine might not be coming from the urinary tract, especially in female. This latter issue needs the expertise of a gynecologist. Bottom line here is this needs further investigation by either your primary care doctor or a gynecologist.

Why does it look luke oil is in my urine? I've been using boric acid suppositories for almost 2 weeks and never saw this.

Side effect: It is probably a side effect of long term use of boric acid. Why are you using that for so long anyways? Check with your doctor about alternative treatments for your condition. Boric acid can cause kidney damage.

Urine: No matter how much you drink your urine should not have oil in it. I would have your doctor check a urine specimen. Also get your BP checked.

I've been taking fish oil for about 6 mos 3 to 4g daily and tappered off now n then. Recently i''ve seen oil in my urine n it smells like fiish oil?

I've been taking fish oil for about 6 mos 3 to 4g daily and tappered off now n then. Recently i''ve seen oil in my urine n it smells like fiish oil?

Fish Oil: It certainly could be trace amounts of omega -3 in the urine. It doesn't take much to smell "fishy". The benefits of taking fish oil are less clear than they used to be. I would recommend that you check with your doctor to see if fish oil is right for you. If it is right, I would purchase the highest grade, highly purified brand that is either of Icelandic or Norwegian origin.
