What can cause neck pain and numbness in hands while sleeping. While working I have twisting of fingers and restless legs while resting.

Neck problems

Extremity-upper-hand
It is very possible that the root if your numbness, tingling and lack of strength of upper extremities and hands is on the neck. High and hard pillows may exacerbate it while in bed. Make a consult to a chiropractor or medical doctor regarding your neck contracture and pain. Use a soft pillow or none at all. Relax your neck when you work at the office, using a tall seat whenever possible.

What causes numbness in the hands that happened overnight?

Nerve compression

Numbness_
Nerve compression, whether in the neck (pinched nerve or herniated disk) or in the arm ( carpal or cubical syndrome), can cause numbness or tingling in the arm. Peripheral nerve compression like carpal and cubical tunnel syndrome, typically produce symptoms in the hand/fingers. Compression in the neck can cause symptoms throught the arm. Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most likely cause.

When i sleep both of my arms and hands go numb i wake and stand up until the pain and numbness go away.what is my problem it happens when i work longer hours with chainsaw and other hand tools.what is the cause of this

Hand

Hand numbness that appears in sleep and with repetitive movements is commonly a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition in which one of the 3 major nerves to the hand gets compressed in the wrist. This causes numbness in the thumb, index, and middle finger, and sometimes in part or all of the ring finger, but usually not the pinkie. Discomfort from carpal tunnel syndrome can be felt elsewhere in the upper limb, but if there is true numbness anywhere in the forearm or arm, this can indicate a different problem, such as damage to the nerve roots or plexuses (big nerve interchanges) in the neck and shoulder. There are two other major nerves that go down into the hands, the radial nerve and the ulnar nerve, that could also be involved depending on the pattern of the problem It is a good idea to get hand problems checked by a primary care doctor, who can then refer to a neurologist if needed. Left undiagnosed and untreated, problems like hand numbness can become worse, or develop into weakness of the hands. If symptoms have persisted for a long time without remission, peripheral neuropathy is possible. You may need NCV/EMG test.

Can strained biceps cause numbness in hands?

I'm concerned

Extremity-upper-hand
In general there is usually no numbness with a biceps strain although there is close anatomical proximity. If it started at the same time as the biceps injury you may have injured a peripheral nerve but that would be uncommon. I would bring this to your doctors attention as it may be a problem that needs work up, like an EMG. Hope this helps.

what is the main cause of numbness in hands?

Carpal Tunnel

Extremity-joint-wrist
Carpal tunnel syndrome is probably the most common cause of "numbness in the hands". This occurs when the median nerve gets compressed in the wrist. Other causes include compression of the median, ulnar, or radial nerves in the wrist, elbow or arm. Compression of the nerves leaving the neck and peripheral neuropathy are also common cause of numbness.
